Summary
Porsche folds the note onto their coffee table, willing the waiting rideshare driver not to honk. Will Chay be too suspicious that he didn’t take his bike? Well, it’s not like he’ll need it, not where he’s going.
He decides he’s pushed his luck far enough. He’s not sure what he should take to do this. To sell himself. Is underwear provided?
Who the fuck knows. All Porsche knows that the initial sign-up was enough to keep the house, and pay for Chay’s college. The account he drained three years ago is finally full again.
I did it, Mom, he thinks, not a little bitterly, and slips out into the early morning light.

“I don’t hate the idea of it,” Porsche says, blinking pool water out of his eyes. “You fucking Arm and Pol. If Kinn’s there.”
“You wouldn’t want to hang out?” Big asks, trying to tease Porsche a little. He’s not sure where this came from or where it’s going.
“Nah,” Porsche says, and smiles as Big smooths his wet bangs off his forehead. “I was just thinking, you always do stuff for me and Kinn. And maybe it would be fun if you got what you wanted. Especially if it’s just Arm and Pol.”

When the dust settles from the minor family coup, Kinn is surprised how fucking annoyed he is at his father. Big has just stabilized enough to be transferred to a large teaching hospital nearer the compound. Chan is in the hospital wing stuck full of tubes, and Dr Suva gave him about 30% odds of survival. Vegas is no better.

Summary
If you asked Porsche what it was to be the head of the minor family, he'd call it tiring.
For the first few weeks, he thinks it won't always be a blur of names, faces, and numbers. The dogs in town may have barked for Gun, but everyone in Bangkok understands that Korn is the kennel master. When he asks his contacts to come meet his nephew (Porsche hates being called that), they come. Soon, Porsche thinks, he’ll have finally run out of fat old men with thumb rings, and Porsche can start getting them straight in his head, but finally never seems to come. Korn is really fucking connected.
Kinn sits at the head of the long table, but it's at Korn's elbow that Porsche starts to learn. The old man ran guns and drugs for decades before becoming a professorial grandfather living above the clouds. He has a way of making the numbers seem easy.
(And if it's easier for Porsche to accept his authority than it is to admit that Kinn is a little more equal than him, well. No one asks Porsche to say that out loud.)
Or: Big lives. Somehow this makes life much worse and much better for Porsche.

Summary
It’s Porsche’s third heat with the Theerapanyakuns when he starts to feel like everything in his life is falling into place.
The first heat, well. The less said about it, the better. The only saving grace was the drugs that triggered it (and Kinn’s rut) made it so intense it only lasted 37 hours, instead of the usual 72.
The next one comes just a few months later, brought on (the doctors say) by the stress of the coup. Porsche privately thinks it was about the usual time for it, and that his body just decided to ignore the fake heat and go on normally. But he still consents to the hormone stabilization treatment, because he and Kinn can’t afford to take three full days off every quarter if it turns out he was wrong.
It’s the third one where he feels like everything is falling into place, and the reason for that is…
“Pillow,” Big says. He’s been locked in on helping Porsche make his nest since he started showing signs of preheat. Betas are supposed to be hormonally neutral and unaffected by heat/rut cycles, but Porsche swears Big is having more of a pre-rut than Kinn is right now.

Summary
In his time at the Theerapanyakun compound, Jojo has heard all kinds of gossip about pretty much everybody. There’s not much else to do while standing around in a wool suit on a hot day, besides looking for the bullet scars in the marble of the front breezeway. Sometimes Khun Kinn or K’Porsche arrive and there’s a door to be opened and a car to be parked, but otherwise it’s pretty much just staring into the abyss, trying not to sweat to death.
There’s gossip about everyone, but there’s no one more gossiped about than P’Big. (Well, except maybe K’Porsche, but that’s not so much gossip as it is legend.)

Summary
To say that Big wakes up would be a strong overstatement of what happens. He’s mostly dead, and then he’s slightly less dead and can open his eyes sometimes, and then he’s only half-dead.
The few weeks he’s half-dead would probably be the worst, if Big had any recollection of them after he gets out of the hospital. He knows that he asks over and over where Ken is, and every time the staff tell him, and every time a little piece of him dies.
And then he goes back to sleep, and like a goldfish he forgets and they do it all again. It happens so many times it sticks with him even though practically nothing else from half-dead does.
And then suddenly, he’s not half-dead. He’s mostly alive. His brain gets its shit together and he can operate his arms and legs, and speak, if a little slurringly. He regains episodic memory and is profoundly embarrassed that he’s been told upwards of thirty times that Ken is dead. In all that, he never asked after Khun Kinn.
Or:
Big lives. This changes less than one might think.

Summary
Porsche swallows, because the last thing is hard to admit. But now that things are better, he is slowly learning that whatever he says he wants, Kinn and Big try to give him.
He still doesn’t quite trust it, but it’s been… nice? He kind of… likes? being a stay-at-home boyfriend? Probably he won’t forever, but for right now it’s been… good? that he can just think about school, and not worry about rent, or work, or even managing a full course load.
Big’s still kind of staring at him over their waffles. He’s probably guessed already. He always guesses. But he still makes Porsche say it.

Summary
“Your birthday is coming up,” Porsche says one morning, over breakfast with Big and Kinn. After everything, the breakfast table in the bedroom has been slightly expanded and gained a third chair, and Kinn no longer eats only Farmhouse for breakfast. Big has protein requirements. “Do you have a wishlist somewhere? I don’t know what to get for the man who only wants three shirts and one gun.”
“I’m… nah,” Big says. “I’ve never been a huge birthday person. We don’t have to…”
“Big,” Kinn says, and Big obediently stops coming up with variations on I am small, I am unimportant, I am forgettable to my partners. He’ll probably still be punished for that a little tonight, but.
But that’s part of the fun.

“I feel tired,” Kinn says, not sure how this is going to make sense to P’Chan. “I’m just… yeah. Really tired.”
“Of the way you have sex?” Chan asks.
Kinn shakes his head. He loves that Porsche will ask him for things and let Kinn give him what he wants. They still have penetrative sex less frequently than they used to, but they’re also not 23 and 26 anymore. And Porsche is happy and satisfied after their encounters. Kinn wouldn’t give that up for anything. He loves making Porsche happy.
“It’s not that,” he says, still trying to figure out what he’s talking about. “Just with… everyone expects things from me.”

Summary
The second Pete calls home from the diamond auction to report they’ve found Porsche, Chan can tell something bad is happening. “When are they coming back?” he demands. His skin is itching with the need to have Kinn behind bulletproof steel doors and a small but well-armed militia instead of out in the open.
“They’re not,” Pete says, and there’s that strained note in his voice that lets Chan know something else is happening. “Porsche puked. K’Kinn is cleaning him up.”
“He’s what?” Chan asks. Pete doesn’t answer, but Chan can feel his uncomfortable silence down the line. “For fuck’s sake.”
“Yessir,” Pete agrees. Chan checks his watch, a feeling like a stone settling in his gut. He doesn’t know why, but he doesn’t trust Kinn with this kid. He wants Porsche home safe so Chan can get him to medical and tear him a new asshole in the morning.

Summary
Pete hums a little as he wraps up what he’s doing and gets ready to head out. Porsche and Vegas have plans tonight. They offered to write him a role, but they're both big nerds and Pete is taking a pass on costumes and a script for sex.
His phone buzzes, Porsche asking if he has a second before he leaves. Sure, Pete writes back, and heads upstairs.
Porsche is in a good mood too. He grins up at Pete when he lets himself into Porsche's office. "Hey," he says to Pete, and closes his laptop. "I know you said that we were ridiculous and you weren't dressing up as a eunuch…"
"I did say that," Pete agrees, and smiles. “And you’re not talking me into it.”
"Wasn't gonna try," Porsche says. "Kinn would kill me, he's excited to see you. No, he gave me a present to give to you. If you want."

Summary
Couple’s counselling has been a qualified… okay, Kinn thinks, looking through his schedule for today. They’re meeting the woman again this afternoon, and Kinn is trying to figure out if he can get a one-on-one in with someone first. Probably best not to.
They had that talk a few months ago, kind of clearing the air, and it all seemed good. Kinn apologized. They could move on.
Then, suddenly, they were fighting about everything. If things had been smooth, Kinn's not sure if they'd ever have gone, but Chan suggested it to both of them separately as a way to stop fucking shouting at each other in front of the staff, and… well, it seemed like they needed a referee.
Or, nothing can ever go smoothly for Porsche. Kinn tries his best to help.

Summary
Porsche leans over Kinn and pulls Pete in for a kiss, which always shuts both Kinn and Vegas up. Maybe it’s not just Pete who feels things building. There’s something growing between the four of them, Pete thinks dizzily, Porsche’s mouth hot against his, like how stacking triangles makes stronger bridges. The metaphor is a little beyond him right now.
Pete’s used to kissing Porsche, as much as one can get used to kissing Porsche, but not half-hauled over Kinn’s lap like this. Kinn’s hands stay politely by his sides, but Pete is still caught between Kinn’s muscular body and the table, and he can feel the heat radiating off Kinn, feel his solidity.
He shivers and leans into Kinn’s warmth. He hasn't felt it for a long time, but Kinn used to sneak smokes with the guards in high school and college. He'd stand shoulder to shoulder with Big and Pete, under an awning out of the rain, warm like this. Pete hasn't thought of it for a long time.
Or: Pete and Porsche (and Kinn and Vegas) vs. the mortifying ordeal of being known.
