Summary
the brainrot has gotten so bad that I plan to add more onto this universe. stay tuned for more insane ramblings of a crazed lunatic (me :D)
this has two timelines, backwards Evolution being the fic that's the base to both paths/endings!!
path A: Vox escapes and has to deal with the aftermath of what Alastor did to him (and Alastor absolutely gets his comeuppance ten times over) or "the light ending"
path B: Vox, for whatever reason, stays with Alastor and eventually becomes unrepairable, forced to stay as someone he hadn't been in decades (and Alastor has a horrible influence on him) or "the dark ending" (or "the gaslight gatekeep girlboss ending" as my roommate loves to call it)

Summary
It wasn't as if Alastor didn't want to talk about what had happened, the night after Vox had left and Lilith had revealed she held more of Alastor's strings than he'd ever thought possible.
For one thing – he couldn't. Was physically incapable of giving anything but the most bare-bones details, yes or no answers to whatever questions Vox might think to ask. It was rather difficult to have a conversation with somebody when saying the wrong thing might glue his mouth shut for the next several minutes.
For another, every time Vox started to ask about it, began to question exactly what Alastor had dreamt that had left him so panicked – Alastor had decided that there were far more enjoyable things he could be doing with his mouth.
Vox clearly found it difficult to focus on the topic at hand when something else was at hand instead.

Summary
Something was wrong with him and not even his own fucking mind cared enough to help him fill in the gaps. At that realization, the word that had evaded him as he'd watched himself lovingly clutch that hand against his face passed through like a ghost, and he grasped at it masochistically:
ALONE.
Vox is NOT a broken man. Panic attacks and meltdowns simply aren't like him, and yet they've become his norm. Isolated, confused, assaulted by a torrent of buried memories of a life that doesn't feel like his own. He's the demon who can kill with a touch. (As much as killing counts for down here). He's the sinner everyone wants to know. They ask him questions like 'Oh, Mister Borealis, what do you have to say about Valentino's newest project?' And 'Any rumors about Vox's next product?' And 'Does Velvette have anything planned for the fall season?' And, of course, those questions fit only for Overlord's to know the answer to: "Where did you come from, Mister Borealis" and "Where are you going?"
But he has an exclusive radio interview coming up. One with an Overlord who really only has one question to ask. The one nobody else seems to bother with: "What's going through your head right now?"

In a set series of data, there's always those stupid little outliers. Those things that make no sense in the grander designs of the universe, random bits of chaos inserted just to drive him up the wall. When every program, every example, every equation spits out the same exact answer, he expects, generally, for things to follow the pattern. Follow the dotted line on the nice pretty graph! It can actually give you answers on what to expect!
Profits are up! Pride's sky is red! And Vox is going to stay at the top of this pyramid, thank you very much.
But, because nothing is ever simple, there has to be outliers.
And this one, in particular, is proving...problematic.

Summary
The Underwood Rumor Mill, owned and solely operated by Inkwell Underwood, had been in operation in Hell for years now. A foot in the door with one of the larger papers in Pentagram City meant that taking money for a client to get some words in front of a large audience was very simple. There's more than one person who could see that, though. And Vox could see even further than that. A foot in the door meant a door that could be pried open. It was all a matter of finding the right tool for the job.

Summary
Never in a million years did Vox think that Alastor would use their emergency/call deal the two of them once made when they were acquaintances?! Vox didn’t know what to make of this? Perhaps the old bastard succumbed to the nature of the angelic wounds finally and was submitting his weaknesses to Vox.
Who was he to pass up the opportunity to see the Radio demon wither away and beg for his life. What he was not expecting is the moment he zapped to the radio tower to be pinned to the closet wall of the nearly collapsed tower and feel something hard being pressed to his thighs.
“Oh shit" is the only thing that can be heard and, despite his haze, is the only thing Alastor can agree with momentarily as he ruts into Vox.
Oh shit indeed. (Basically porn with plot and angst eventually not interested don’t read my grammar is terrible pre-warned)

Summary
The battle against heaven is over. Adam was defeated, Alastor fled with his tail between his legs, the future of hell finally belonged to the Vees.
Vox of course wasn’t going to miss such an outstanding opportunity to humiliate the radio demon even further, using all the media and abilities in his power to mock the once powerful overlord. That was until his eyes finally met with the battered and injured body of his enemy, a sight that made his heart… change.*The plot is a continuation of season 1, right after the final battle.
*I know that Alastor is aroace, but in my story… he’s not. This is only fanfiction so I hope you’ll understand. If you don’t like it please just don’t read.

Vox realizes at the most inopportune moment possible that he is still quite pathetically gone for Alastor, and thus saves his life—in exchange for a deal. Alastor, on the other hand, strives to be inopportune at all possible moments, and thus learns what he is willing to sell in exchange for his own life. After all, "love" can be interpreted in so many different ways.

A crackle of static bled into the air, his voice going dangerously low.
“Ha – what are you implying, Picture Box?” Alastor asked, leaning back on Vox's lap, narrowing his eyes at the other man's screen. The apologetic, contrite look he had been expecting to find was conspicuously absent – Vox looked thoughtful.

After Alastor's sudden return following his seven-year absence, Vox decides that they need to talk about what happened between the two of them all those years ago. Vox corners Alastor, tries to force a conversation. Next thing you know, he's forcing his tongue down Alastor's throat instead. Shaky, miserably negotiated intimacy follows.
Not much talking actually happens.
(Pretty heavy dubcon, Vox tries to mercilessly wring communication out of Alastor and Alastor plays along for reasons he can barely justify to himself. Heed the tags!)

“We really must stop meeting this way,” Alastor muttered, quickly casting a suspicious look around the hallway before ducking through the door, knowing Vox was already inside the room by the way his signal buzzed in the air, his own reacting to it with an irritating level of enthusiasm.
“What way?” Vox queried, not getting up from the armchair he was seated in, his legs crossed as he made a few more notes on his phone before tucking the thing away.
“Clandestine midnight meetings in seedy hotels. I shall start to think you consider me as – what's the word? – 'Easy',” Alastor clarified wryly, double checking the door was locked.
Vox tilted his head up, raising a brow at the radio demon.
“Okay – first of all, this hotel is the least seedy place in Pentagram city. Do you know how much it's costing me just to book in here? You pay for discretion, after all,” he shot back, unimpressed. Alastor played his canned laughter in the air, sending a pulse of static over the other man's shoulders that made his screen flicker.
