"Chuuya, I can't deal with emotional teenagers!" The man cried over the phone dramatically, making the redhead roll his eyes. "Honestly, I'll just ask him to commit double suicide with me and he might even agree, in his current state, y'know?" Honestly he didn't doubt that the fucker would do something like that to a colleague of his that was going through a hard time. "If I end up killing both myself and another employee, Kunikida-kun might revive me and then make me wish I was dead!" Like he cares about that.
"So, please, just do this as a favour for me."
The fact that Dazai, of all people, requested something of him did make him curious though. Why him? He wasn't good with emotions either.
"Why not just have someone from the ADA take care of the tiger, though?" The redhead groaned over the phone, holding it with his shoulder as he poured himself some Pinot Noir he got from his latest mission. "Well….let's just say that seeing anyone he cares about right now might not be the best thing for him." His suicidal ex partner mumbled, making him arch a brow.
"And remind me again, what do I gain from this?" He asked instead, before taking a sip of the red wine.

Summary
Dazai’s grin widens, spreading from ear-to-ear. “Let’s get out of this orphanage.”
Sunset eyes blink back at eager hazel ones as Atsushi tries to make sense of the words that had just flown out of Dazai’s mouth. Despite his efforts, he still finds himself at a dead end; the words are practically going in one ear and right out the other as he gawks in silence. When Atsushi does finally part his lips to respond, he doesn’t even seem to realize that Dazai is speaking again at rapid speed — rather, he hasn’t even stopped speaking since he first blurted the words out.
“— you know? We could finally live without the shithead staff always on our —”
“You want to escape?”
Dazai’s mouth promptly shuts upon being interrupted, and now it’s his turn to blink at the other with confusion.
“Uh, yes, Atsushi, I do. I thought I started off this conversation by saying that. Man, were you even listening to me?” the brunette says back, his eyebrows furrowing. Before long, the playful smirk returns to his lips. “You’re not a very good listener, are you?”

College was not a part of his plan, but sometimes plans getting derailed isn't such a bad thing.
Atsushi has been given an opportunity to attend one of the most prestigious schools in Yokohama, and he accepts with the thought of escaping his fate pre-written by those who looked down on him throughout his entire life. His roommate, Jun'ichiro, immediately becomes his number one supporter, and looks out for him more than anyone else has.
A few weeks into the first semester, Jun'ichiro and Naomi (who was visiting) bring up their plans to get matching tattoos, and as so, it sparks a bit of curiosity for Atsushi.
He just didn't expect to find himself standing outside of a tattoo parlor on his birthday, looking to get one for himself.

A deeply buried part of him can’t help but wonder what it would feel like if he smashed the mirror, destroying that damned reflection once and for all so he doesn’t have to look at it anymore. Atsushi secretly longs to see his own blood splatter and stain the shattered glass as it flies in all directions. Maybe then the pain of his cut up hand will feel good (maybe it’s better if the pain is something he chooses to inflict on himself).
