Summary
He fingers the glass vial in his pocket. Contemplates the half-empty bottle left carelessly beside his partner’s haphazard pile of street clothes – some sort of lurid, neon-colored energy drink; carbonated, with a strong taste of its own – and makes his decision.
It’s for Jesse’s own good.
(He tells himself this, and believes it. It’s the truth.)
And what he doesn’t know won’t hurt him.
--
An alternate take on the plot of S4, starting from Shotgun/Cornered. Rather than trying to poison Gus, Walt takes a different sort of drastic action to maintain his hold on Jesse.

Summary
Canon divergence somewhere between S03E13 to S04E04.
To escape his conscience over the people he's killed, Jesse throws days long partying with drinks and drugs and allows his house to become a thoroughfare for every Tom, Dick, and Harry.
At some point actual criminals get wind of it and come to check it out.
By then most of the junkies have cleared out with Badger and Skinny Pete, and loiterers get cleared out by the gang—all except two women and Jesse who are already too high/drunk to defend themselves when they are shot up with heroin and put on their knees.
Jesse calls Walter for help.
