“Tried that already.” Dick hung his head over the arm of the sofa. “Pulled every ally we had away from their work before I learned that surprise! Gotham still needs a Batman.”
“And now she has one. But that doesn’t mean he can’t ask for help. And I wasn’t thinking of ‘allies,’ Master Dick. I was thinking of family.”
Bruce isn't dead, just lost in time. And Tim and Damian are finally . . . tolerating each other. But before they can get Bruce back, they'll need some help. Especially since the new string of thefts in Gotham is disturbingly bat-themed.
This story will also involve: Museums, MacGuffins, Feelings, Crying, Talking About Issues (just so much talking—this is like a case-fic if the case was the B-plot and talking about issues was the A-plot), Plot Twists, Unnecessary Clothes Shopping Scenes, Slow-burn Sibling Bonding, Characters Who Definitely Need Therapy But Aren't Getting It (Yet), and Pointless Literary References!
(Note: You probably don't need to have read "Redrawing the Lines" to understand this fic, but it does set up some of the characters' current relationships and why Damian is grounded.)

"They're okay," she said. She tilted her head and looked up at Ginny, mouth pursed gravely. Upside down, she looked particularly elfin, her face thin and pale. She reached up and squeezed Ginny’s hand, still on Luna’s shoulder. "We shouldn’t give up hope."
Ginny laughed roughly, the kind of laugh Sirius Black had had – short and barking and desperate.
"The star chart tell you that?"
"No," said Luna mildly. She held Ginny's hand in both of her own and pressed her thumbs into Ginny's palm. She was giving her a hand massage, Ginny realized. "But I know they're okay."
Luna said this with the same calm assurance she used to talk about wrackspurts and heliopaths and every manner of impossible thing. But this time, Ginny believed her.

Summary
After the rescue of the 107th, Steve Rogers cashes in all of his favors and makes what deals he can to get Bucky a medical discharge from the Army, sending him home to Brooklyn and far from enemies and curious scientists both. But Steve's war goes on until it ends badly, in an exploding plane over the Black Sea. Captain America is presumed dead, his shield recovered and returned to a grieving America while his body remains undiscovered.
Seven years later, a new danger is threatening to unbalance the already-roiling Cold War: a Soviet assassin let loose from behind the Iron Curtain. Peggy Carter isn't sure she wants to believe that the assassin is a super-soldier because of what it could mean, but she does know that whoever it is, she'll have to break her promise to keep Bucky Barnes far from danger.
