There was always a dull buzz in the back of his head, a warning sign that grew louder and louder each day. Some nights he swore he heard a harsh breath above his bed, other nights he heard a rustle of...something in the corner of the room.

Summary
The Lakeside Village has met its end, and the Feaster is without a domain once more. Following a divination, he arrives at Oletus Manor to find the "prophet" he needs to usher in a new era. Finally, he encounters his destined prophet: Jose Baden, deeply troubled, deeply flawed First Officer responsible for the loss of his father's crew and the ruin of his bloodline.
It should be easy to bring Jose into the light, but there is resistance from all sides. The mortal he's closest to refuses to let him go, not helped by the assistance from another god's high priestess. The one overseeing these games has other plans for the First Officer, ones he won't allow Hastur to interfere with.
Worst of all is the resistance from Jose himself - from a strange deep hypnosis preventing their bond, to his own selfish worldview and aggravating personality. But the Feaster refuses to be deterred. No matter the obstacles in his way, Jose is his, and in time, the First Officer will become a prophet worthy of the King in Yellow...no matter how long that may take.

Ganji Gupta and William Ellis have known (but rarely talked to) each other since middle school. Starting their lives at Oletus University, they both pursue their beloved sports.
Ganji thinks that love and relationships are a waste of time. He wasn’t that big of a “people person” to begin with— his protective mom restricted him of his ability to properly talk to others, so that no one could ever hurt him.
Cricket is the only thing that matters to him. He loves the thrill, the adrenaline, the satisfaction that follows every swing of his arm, the connection between the ball and bat. Love cannot produce this same feeling.
William visits the cricket player at every practice. He’s just as busy with rugby, but always finds time to stop by and stalk Ganji when he’s on the field. The forward bugs him about going to hang out, until the batter obliges and gives him a chance to talk.
Rugby and cricket can’t both be the best sports. There can only be one.
And god, if William wanted to play with him so badly, Ganji would have to try harder.

Especially when that bump comes roaring at you while speeding down the streets. But something about shaped steel steaming down the concrete inspired him just as much to fill the streets with art as to start viewing the underground races where a very familiar face was one of the elite drivers.
