Summary
Adam has begun dreaming of Ronan. She can't tell if it's Cabeswater's influence or just the product of a restless mind, but the dreams are getting more vivid, and it's been harder and harder to resist temptation.
Whatever danger was causing these new anomalies in the woods was a preferable thought sequence than the one in which she remembered Ronan dragging her lips across her neck, Ronan whispering breathlessly in her ear, Ronan gripping her hair.
She practically bolted out of the Camaro when they pulled into the Monmouth lot. 8 hours in the warehouse was preferable to another ten minutes in that car.

The door opened to reveal Adam Parrish, Esquire, Attorney at Law. He was well dressed, tall and slender, with piercing blue eyes set deep in a handsome, angular face. His forehead was furrowed in a perturbed manner that made his fair eyebrows look like one long pale, blonde line. He had not one single hair out of place anywhere on his head, nor a wrinkle in his neatly tailored suit. He had dark circles underneath his eyes, and a few faded freckles dappled the bridge of his nose. Despite those two very human and almost boyish physical attributes, there was an innate peculiarity to his demeanor. He looked uptight, just like his office. He looked annoyed, just like Ronan.
Adam Parrish frowned at Ronan, and then he said, “I’m sorry. I don’t take criminal defense cases.”

Then the mattress dipped again, heavier this time, Ronan’s weight folding into it. Adam kept his eyes closed, but he felt the moment Gansey leaned up to meet him. The sound of their lips touching was soft, like a drop falling on a pond.
“Birthday boy asleep?” Ronan’s voice came low, closer now.
Adam made an effort to part his lips, his mouth dry. “I am not,” he murmured, words dragging. “You’re late.”
He knew Ronan was smiling, that awful, handsome, crooked thing he did. He set his hand, warm and dry, on Adam’s back, pressing him gently into the bed, making his ribs tighten against the mattress. He leaned in, mouth brushing the shell of Adam’s ear. He smelled sharp and sun-washed, like wild grass and chlorine. His stubble grazed Adam’s neck.or it's Adam's brithday. Gansey and Ronan try to take care of him.

For a moment, Adam thought Ronan would stop in front of him, pick up what they’d started out on the front porch, but Ronan brushed past him to the shelves of model cars. He picked up the one on the top shelf and spun one of its four wheels so it played an eerie, lovely tune, and the quiet song filled the room as Ronan walked back across it to sit at the foot of his bed.
Adam watched him move but remained in the middle of the room, the heat in his stomach starting to simmer through his veins. This was a memory Adam hadn’t let decay, one Ronan, sappy, sentimental Ronan, was tilting on its axis, and though Adam knew what part he had to play, he was unable to take his cues because he loved Ronan Lynch so much in that moment he wanted to stay in it forever.
The night before Declan's wedding, Adam comes home.

Adam could feel it in the weight of Ronan’s gaze, the way it tripped down Adam’s body— eyes, mouth, waist, thighs— and then when Adam was close enough, sure and confident in how much Ronan wanted, Ronan turned his cheek, letting Adam’s mouth brush stubbled cheek instead of soft lips.

Gansey dared one last glance towards Ronan and Adam before dashing away. If it was to assure himself this wasn’t a dream, or to give him something to dream about later, he wasn’t sure. But he could have sworn his last look was met with Adam’s gaze. He had no way of knowing when Adam’s head had turned, whether it had given him enough time to understand exactly what Gansey had been doing, the entirety of the situation at hand.
Or, while Gansey visits them, Adam and Ronan accidentally leave a door open while having sex, leading the three of them to deal with the complicated (and horny) consequences.
