Summary
Quiet rustling revealed that the human rose to his feet and Jisung counted the other's steps to ten before he slowly dared to open his eyes again. The gray floor in front of him was empty. What a relief!
The ground was hard, uncomfortable, and so, so cold. Jisung was cold. He pulled his arms between his torso and legs, hiding his hands in the sweater sleeves that were too wide for his frame. One hand moved to pet his tail, but the self-soothing gesture had long lost its effect, no matter how well he avoided the bald and wounded patches all over his tail.
Steps approached, two people this time, and Jisung let out a quiet whimper. Why couldn't they just leave him alone?
One of them gasped, then hurried closer, dropping to his knees. "What happened to you, darling?"
Or: Jisung gets out of an abusive household only to end up in some homeless shelter. The next day, he is advised to go to a place where hybrids can receive help. What he had not expected when he set foot into that place was an offer for a place to stay and seven men who promise him a chance to heal, both physically and mentally.

Felix fits in well, too well, almost like he was always there. He belongs in a way Chan hadn’t expected him to, but it feels right to have his brother there, chatting away with Chan’s friends and making them his own with ease. He’s that same force of nature, that sunshine, rip-current of a human that draws in everyone in his path with a truly magnetic pull.
Chan is the moon to Felix’s sun again, and this time, he can’t complain. Not when every little thing Felix says makes his friends smile and laugh. Not when Felix’s eyes sparkle with genuine happiness.
When Chan's little brother Felix follows after him to university, Chan underestimates just how much the reunion would affect him and how it would stir the darkness that had laid dormant inside him since their separation.
Even more so, he forgets one crucial detail about Felix's room next door to his that slowly tears down every single barrier he had put up between them.
