“He’s being a little deceptive, but I don’t think it’s that big of a deal. It’ll come out eventually, and we just have to be accepting.”
“What do you mean it’s not a huge deal? He’s putting himself in danger daily and I just can’t ‘accept that’. How can you?”
“I’m sometimes a little concerned with his habits, but I wouldn’t say he’s in danger. I think it’s pretty normal, I guess, given his size.”

Summary
Billy Batson's last memories consisted of staring into Superman's eyes as his former mentor burned a hole into his skull. After that, there was nothing but horrible darkness and a voice calling out to him, one that continued to get stronger and stronger. Without any warning, he's reborn, awaking in the Rock of Eternity to find out that he never actually died, and the Regime has fallen.
He should be happy knowing that the Insurgency won, that Superman was getting the justice he deserved... but he couldn't be. Something in Billy Batson died, and even now with the help of Shazam, it was never coming back.
In a world trying to get back onto its feet, how could he be apart of it, especially knowing he was part of the reason it fell in the first place?
AKA, I'm salty that Shazam died in Injustice and this is my way of giving the middle finger.

At 12 years old, Billy Batson becomes the 'immortal' adult superhero, Captain Marvel.
At 14 years old, just a week after his birthday, Danny Fenton dies and becomes the 'ancient' ghost hero, Phantom.2 years later, after Billy became the Champion of Magic, a new hero has joined the league and Billy wants to meet him! Plus a ghost superhero at that? Billy thought that was awesome. But then he actually meets the dead teen, who looks scarily similar to his childhood friend but with different coloured features.

Hallo! I decided to try writing some Batson!centric short stories because it looked really fun.
Note: I don't put stuff in the tags unless it actually shows up in the story.
1st Chapter: A sleep-deprived Billy forgets to transform before going up to the Watchtower. Shenanigans ensue.
2nd Chapter: Captain Marvel knows how to do his job. Billy remembers the Champion's baggage. They both are nagged by the gods. The League wonders why Captain Marvel has been requesting more shifts.
3rd Chapter: Batman hasn't figured out Captain Marvel's identity. The reverse is not true.
4th Chapter: Truth mold drives a League meeting off-course.
5th Chapter: Billy used to tell stories.
6th Chapter: Continuation of Fourth Chapter: The League is quarantined on the Watchtower until the mold wears off. Billy tries to avoid Batman, but that doesn't always go according to plan...
7th Chapter: Billy Batson is unstuck in time.
8th Chapter: Billy and Freddy go on a field trip.
9th Chapter: Billy contemplates Earth and Responsibility.

When he woke up this morning he honestly didn't expect to end the day doing puzzles with Batman. Not complicated 2000 piece puzzles or ones to save his life but one for a child around 500 pieces, which will eventually come together to make an image of Superman. This day could not get any weirder, of course there was a pool of dread leaching at his insides but if he just kept focusing on the task at hand it was like he hadn’t a care in the world.
