"Since Katara and my dad have come out here a few times, I don't really feel the need to go back to the tribe right now," he admits. Iroh hums happily in response.
What Sokka doesn't say is that he's already home. Zuko is his home.

“Dr. Robby!” the man shouted, Robby turned instantly, the smile on his face fading, there was a flash of metal, cries and screams of fear and then a loud crack. It didn’t register as a gun or even as a weapon, perhaps because it didn’t belong in a hospital.
Robby jerked back, subtle at first, more like he’d stumbled. By instinct, Dennis’ arms were already wrapping around Robby’s center. The impact of the older man drove the breath out of both Dennis. Something slammed into Dennis’ left side, not pain, just a deep jolting shock that left his ears ringing and his head spinning.
He didn’t have time to consider it, as Robby’s larger, bulkier form slammed into him, Robby’s knees buckled, and Dennis was suddenly scrambling and bracing to lower both of them carefully to the floor, the best he could under Robby’s weight.
“Robby? Hey, stay with me, keep your eyes open,” Dennis ordered, the words falling out of his mouth as he clutched their partner close. Did they sound further away? He saw the darkening spot on Robby’s upper left abdomen, and he pressed his hand over the wound, hard. “JACK!”

till he walks up after a difficult shift that had him crying over a sink in the bathroom, when he sees Dr.Robby on the other side of the railing, Dr.Abbot leaning over and talking lowly to Robby, he freezes, cold air biting his skin, he sees the way Robby's body twitches with tears, he looks guilty at the private moment before turning around, and heading back down. pain was filling his chest, but seeing Dr.Robby on the other end of the railing made his heart skip a terrible beat.
that night he made Santos drive to the store, buying cooking stuff, he cant say hes good with emotions and words, but one thing his Ma on the farm had taught was cooking is one of the best healing medicines.
