"God... just. Sometimes I feel like I'm a jester." Pim spat. Charlie looks up from his phone and whips his head over in Pim's direction. "I feel like I'm just like a fucking cartoon character or something... I'm just so happy and smiley and lucky all the time! I'm so childish, so naive! I'm like an object of amusement to them; poking and prodding my buttons just to see what they do."
"But, you are real. This is real life." Charlie densely replies.
Pim lets out a groan of frustration and gets off the couch. "Yeah this is real life, and you're a normal guy! But I'm not normal. For whatever fucking reason I just can't seem to do what everybody else does. I always stick out like a sore thumb. They laugh at me, demean me, beat me-"
"I-Is this about the orb thing?" Charlie interrupts. "Because like it's fine that you murdered us in that. It probably wasn't even real anyways."

Summary
Love makes fools of us all. For someone like Midas, it was a sweet, fleeting thing, always kept just out of reach for fear of snuffing out its addictive spell. But Jones made a selfish creature of him, one that found himself clinging to a man he didn’t deserve to have. If he ever realized the kind of person Midas was, he’d leave him. Perhaps he’d be better off if he did.
For Jones, Midas was a puzzle to unravel, with each layer peeling back to reveal more of his imperfections and closely guarded secrets. He wished to commit all of him to memory, to accept the good with the bad. Was there anything more intimate than knowing someone? Like it or not, Jones would remain by his side through the worst of it all.
A fic about getting back together and staying together, with the common thread of Jones learning to love Midas through each of his agents.
