Summary
What would it have been like to see all the things he had seen through eyes that couldn’t focus? To run without being able to feel the wind on his face? To climb with numb fingers and toes? Summary
“So, okay—wait, so—thirty years.”
Ford lifts a brow over the rim of his coffee mug. You fear he’s swiftly regretting confiding in you; this is the third time you’ve doubled back today.
“So did you—I mean, had you ever, like…"
There’s a long pause in which you become painfully aware of who it is you’re speaking to and what it is you’re trying to solicit.
“Sorry, um, actually, you know what, forget it. Forget I started asking this.”
Ford absently flips a page in the pocket notebook he’s reviewing. “You want to know whether I had any… intimate encounters?”
