Trying to hold onto his fight, Peter shoots back, “Yeah? And what’s that?”
“To have nothing, after being able to believe you could have everything.”
The streets are dirty, crowded, and the jagged bumps in the asphalt are hardly comfortable to sleep on. They’re home, though.
Peter is just about finished with New York City. It’s gotten impossibly harder to find even a scrap of food, and what little belongings he does have are unlikely to keep him alive through the winter. And the memories. God, the painful memories here.
So he saves up. Makes a plan to get out of there.
Then, somehow, he accidentally saves Tony fucking Stark from a gang of eight mercenaries, and the majestic plan disintegrates into ash.
The worst part about it, he knows, isn’t even that he met Tony. It’s that Tony met him.

Summary
1. Mr. Stark was wrong, and Peter wasn’t just going to stand by while innocent people got hurt. So, yes, he fought with the man, and yes, he was "on the outs" with him and had been banned from every Stark Industries building.
2. Every field trip the Acadec team has gone on has ended in disaster, injury and almost-death. They are not happy.
Sadly, his teachers don't believe him or any other Academic Decathlon team member. It's up to them now to get themselves banned from field trips forever, and hopefully, in the process, say 'fuck you' on behalf of the normal, everyday people to the world's most famous superhero.

The teens stood up and started filing off the bus, and Peter hoped that it whatever was out there took no interest in a bunch of nerdy teenagers.

The men may have been idiots, but they meant business.
“I would keep your trap shut if I were you,” one of them said next to his ear.

Peter and Flash get kidnapped from a decathlon field trip, and this is the outcome.
I had to just get this out of my head so I could stop thinking about it. That's pretty much it. It's not heavy, and honestly pretty fluffy.

Only a month away from graduation, Mr. Harrington announces a surprise field trip to Avengers Tower, and all Peter wants is to just finish out his senior year of high school in peace. That seems to be impossible when he's never seen a moment's peace in his life.
This is pretty light-hearted, no real angst.
I jumped on the field trip bandwagon, and this is so much longer than I initially intended.
