“Where’s Christopher?” The question ripped out of him before he could think. “Is he okay? Did I – did I lose him?”
Buck’s face fell. “Chris is fine. He’s in Texas, remember? With your parents.”
Texas. Eddie’s mind snagged on that. It didn’t feel right. Not at all. “No,” he muttered, shaking his head despite the rip of pain it caused. “No, that’s- that’s not right. We came here from Texas years ago. He came with me. We’re here now. He’s here.” He tried to sit up, but the effort sent his body crashing back against the pillow.
“Eddie, stop.” Buck’s voice turned firm, but not angry. Just scared. “Chris isn’t here, but he is okay. He’s not lost. You’re here with me. Chris is in Texas. He’s safe, I swear.”
OR
The fallout from a major head injury blurs the lines between Eddie’s past and present, forcing him and Buck to confront an uncertain future together.

“Pidge told you where they were going, right? To the woods?” Lance said. “If...If it came down to it, would you go?”
“Yeah…” Keith answered, voice quiet. “I would.”
Lance didn’t respond. He only tightened his grip on Keith’s hand and let out a shaky breath. It was the kinda breath that Keith could feel in the deepest part of him. The kind that spoke volumes without a word being uttered. It was worry. It was regret. It was fear. It was resignation.
But most of all, it was bravery.
And while to most, bravery would be a sign of comfort, a sign that maybe everything would turn out okay, to Keith, Lance’s bravery could really only mean one thing.
The situation was so much worse than he could ever possibly imagine.

Galas are an issue, because something always goes wrong, and no one knows this better than Dick Grayson. (It's a bit of a problem, actually, but he can always depend on Bruce to get him out of trouble.)
In which Dick is twelve, a bit more experienced with this whole gala thing, very much freaking out about being kidnapped and very much trying not to be, Bruce just wants his kid to be okay, and there is drugged orange juice.
