But Bruce knows his soulmate is that rando nobody of a reporter from the Daily Planet and has no time for the alien's romantic overtures.

Everywhere there's monitors and familiar machinery and the distinct tang of antiseptic, sharp beyond the memory sense of blood and snow. For half a second Law looks at it all very blankly and thinks, What The Hell. Is he dreaming. Is he hallucinating. Is he just plain dead. His sight-line completes the rotation of this impossibility to fall upon speckled jeans and a long sweeping coat. And the man standing in front of Law has the blankest expression Law's ever seen. And the man standing in front of Law has Law's father's face.
Underneath Law's blood-slicked fingers, Cora-san's pulse shudders.
(This is a story where the past and the present collide. Wherein thirteen year old Trafalgar Law and twenty-six year old Rocinante tumble sideways through time-space via the blue desperation of a newly eaten devil fruit, from Minion island to a future distant. They had never felt more alone than when they were born, and now it’s happening again. “We’ve moved on!” they find themself saying, though it’s more like pleading, and they can feel liquid skin pooling in their mouth like spittle. They wonder if they will die as soon as they’ve been born- it would be ironic, as it’s usually the opposite for them. They wonder if Amy would cry for them.
(It’s a silly thought; of course she wouldn’t. Her Raggedy Doctor is there to tell her everything’s alright even if it isn’t, don’t worry about the puddle of skin on the floor and the Gallifreyan eyes, still wide awake, still thinking, bobbing like apples on its surface. Don’t forget to breathe, Amy.)

Vash was just glad the people of Inepril were safe and that their plant was stable again. He’d ended his stay there on a good note, and it was one that he preferred to leave on.
If Vash got lucky, which in his experience was a very big if, they would assume he'd departed on the sand steamer instead of leaving town on foot. If they did, that would throw the insurance girls off his trail as well.
Vash really didn’t want their “twenty-four hour" surveillance. Meryl and Milly were persistent and dangerously sharp. After what they’d seen in Inepril they’d start asking questions, and they’d be questions that Vash either couldn’t or wouldn’t answer.

Now completed! Part 16 is bonus material.Quick FYI on this story: it was written in 2006-2007, well before the release of Skyward Sword and Hyrule Historia, and therefore well before the canon timeline was released, or most of the official lore. I made up my own timeline for it, which incorporated pretty much all the games.
The whole Demise’s curse on the Spirit of the Hero and Hylia’s bloodline was also not a thing yet. Link was newly said to be reincarnating, that’s all we got. I assumed both Link and Zelda were reincarnating.
Thank you for reading this antique. I hope you enjoy it even if a lot of it doesn’t match the now available lore.

Summary
The trouble with multiverses is that one small change can spark an entire reality. In one universe parallel to 46'\, small matters - the speed with which paperwork was done, a few minutes’ difference in portal event initialization - went differently, and as a result, the next-to-last gravitational anomaly did not allow Stan Pines to escape from federal custody as early as he did in its sibling reality. As a result, Dipper, Mabel, and Soos had to proceed with only the incomplete and heavily biased explanations of what was going on offered to them by the angry, paranoid Stan lookalike who stormed out of the vending machine demanding to know who they were and why his house was suddenly full of novelty license plates, all while Stan and Agent Powers each learned and tried to interpret new information about what really happened in 1982 and Stan was further occupied with figuring out a new escape plan. How could everyone's stories possibly go downhill from there?

She needs to get back to her own time, her own adventure. The crew will die without her for sure. But until she can figure out how to do that, she might as well hang out and make sure these insane kids don't die, which might be harder than she initially thinks.
