Summary
The Bull of Minos is brought to Elysium by his murderer and begins the long trial of acclimating to an afterlife as one of the exalted; a great oddity among great men.
Both man and animal, he finds himself in the care of nymphs, who bar his murderer from their meadow. It is a beautiful, peaceful place beneath the white poplar tree, and not a place the Bull belongs. And the human Theseus still haunts his thoughts. The Bull cannot forget his touch, or his praise.

The souls around him taught him the name of this place; he learned by keeping far from them but listening close. This shore is Erebus, where the souls of beasts and unwanted humans are left to wait for mercy from the boatman, who will not ferry them to judgement without coin. Humans are sometimes picked up from the shore--after a hundred years wait, however long that is--but the beasts never leave. No one comes for them.
He doesn't know which one he's considered, here. He had human parents (he thinks) and possesses certain human traits, but not enough to live as humans do. He lived most of his life as a beast, died having never returned to the light, so maybe he will never ride the boat to the other side of the river they call the Styx.

Thanks to advances in medical science, people born with abnormal neurological passage ways can now be medicated, for their own safety and the safety of others. In some countries, these medications are mandated by law. America requires anyone born with the ability to manipulate auras to be on empathic suppressants after age 13. Only practicing, licensed Guides are allowed to go unmedicated.
Jesse McCree happens to think those medications suck, thanks very much, so when he has to chose between life in prison (heavily medicated) and life as a trained military Guide (no medication! ever again!), its not much of a choice at all.

Steve and Curtis are switched bodily, in ways that could only be explained by.... Well, neither of them have the answer for that.
But because of it, Curtis is stuck in Captain America's body, in a world seventeen years earlier, before CW7 went up in the air. His only comfort is a recently rehabilitated Bucky Barnes, who looks at him with equal mixtures of pity, understanding and fear- fear that Steve will never come back.
Steve wakes up in the train of humanity's last playground, confused and cold and thrust into a plot to take over the train and liberate the men and woman that are treated like scum on a daily basis.
Neither do very well.
