Nothing ever felt the same after Soaps death. How could it? What was once a warm and welcoming base felt cold and lonely. It lost a valuable member, a friend, a brother, and a partner. As much as it affected everyone, nobody felt it quite like Ghost, no one mourned quite as much as him. The one time he let himself care and it backfired so how, how could he just pretend everything was fine when it turns out Soap is alive?

Summary
Soap shakes his head and pulls away from him, tears rolling down his cheeks as he hiccups around them, short whistles sounding from the back of his throat as he aches for breath.
“Soap, calm down,” Gaz says, stepping away from him as Ghost holds Johnny upright, “I’ll get your inhaler.”
Ghosts eyes snap to Gaz, “Inhaler?” but Gaz just takes off running.
Ghost turns to Soap who is clenching and unclenching his fists, fighting dutifully for breath but he isn’t getting any. Ghost doesn’t know what to do. He takes a hold of Soaps hand, fingers cold and tipped in blue and he looks into Johnnys eyes as Soap huffs for breath.
“Hurts.” Johnny manages to say before coughing gravelly again, “S- tight.”
His own hand massages against his chest, leaning his head against the wall as he tries his hardest to get control of his breathing. Ghost is tentative when he touches Soaps arm, “What’s wrong? Is- Do you have asthma, Johnny?”
Soap just nods, his head falling onto Ghosts shoulder as he heaves again, choking on the pain in his chest.
