Summary
Before Steve Harrington and Eddie Munson were strangers, they were everything to each other.
They met at seven years old. They grew up together. Eddie knew Steve before King Steve existed, and Steve knew Eddie before Hawkins decided he was a freak.
Friendship became first love with stolen kisses, shared beds, and the private places where neither of them had to pretend.
But Hawkins was watching. And growing up meant learning exactly what happened to boys who loved other boys.
By 1986, Steve and Eddie know how to look at each other like strangers.
Then Chrissy Cunningham is murdered.
We already know how this story ends. This is how it began.

Steve bites his lip, sighing and preparing for inevitable backlash, “I can't, I'm babysitting."
“What!?” Dustin screeches, “How!? You’re not with any Party members?”
“Yeah I’m babysitting other kids.” Steve sighs, looking back at Beth and Annie bickering over one of their teddy bear guests.
“Other kids?! Kids that aren’t us? You’re cheating on us?”
Steve rubs at his temples, “It’s not like I have a secret family Henderson! Calm down.”
“You may as well have!” Dustin retorts something like hurt colouring his tone.
OR How Steve finds a purpose and a family one smartass kid at a time.

Summary
"He scanned around him, gray walls, gray floor, metal everywhere. His optics caught on a heavy metal door on the right, a probably complicated lock adorning the structure. His spark sank. This might be harder than I thought.
The tug of chains caught his audials again. Confused, his gaze wandered slowly in front of him, intakes hitching when he realized there were several tons of beige and purple plating sitting right there. The triple changer was sitting with his knees to the floor, lower limbs tucked behind him. His frame was tense.
When Bumblebee lifted his optics to meet the other mechs, a red and black faceplate grinned at him, servo tugging up in a short wave.
“Hallo!” He said simply.
Bumblebee stared, terrified. Of course this would happen to him, of course he was stuck in this tiny cell with Blitzwing of all mechs. It’s not like he could catch a break or anything!"
...
Blitzwing and Bumblebee find themselves trapped by an enemy who should have stayed dead. An unsteady truce blooms between them, though Blitzwing can't help but wonder if he wants more.

Summary
"Were we friends before?" Blitzwing asks. When Bumblebee doesn't immediately answer, Blitzwing continues, "I know you tried to shoot me, but if you're helping me now... does that mean we were friends at some point?"
Blitzwing's blue face doesn't have any expression in particular, but Bumblebee can hear the hesitance in his voice. Some strange mix of hope and sadness.
Bumblebee should shake his head. So he does, eventually, but he can't help how awful he feels having to admit it. He's lied enough to Blitzwing. He turns his head, not wanting to meet the mech's optics, instead surveying the glistening snow around them.
"No, we weren't." He starts slowly, feeling a lump in his throat. "But, I mean. I couldn't just leave you there on your own, right? Didn't feel right to abandon you."
He doesn't know how or when it started. There were many chances he could have taken; there were times when he'd done nothing but wait for easy opportunities to shoot, to run, to kill. But things kept going wrong. And eventually he stopped planning. He stopped thinking about how to get away.
When did that stop?

Blitzwing gets amnesia. Bumblebee is the only other person around who can help him.
