Donnie doesn't know where he is. This certainly isn't his body, his clothes and its certainly not his lab. He's never been in a human high school before. Not like this anyway. Not as a student.
He doesn't know what he's doing and he certainly doesn't know how he's supposed to do it, but he will absolutely do something impressive before he lets himself be gunned down by social anxiety.

Valerie and Danny are kidnapped by the GIW due to their anomalous ectoplasmic radiation readings. In the lab, they're put trough testing to determine whether or not they still count as human. Danny struggles with the cost of keeping his secrets to avoid hurting Valerie, while Valerie grapples with the real ramifications of her suit’s technology and how ghostly she's becoming. Together they must both face their truths if they want to get out alive.

“They took me out when you guys showed up,” Leo continued, as if Raph hadn’t spoken at all. “Dragged the cage out of the closet and unlocked it, put restraints on me before I knew what was happening. Then they shoved me around a bit, and I didn’t do shit. It was so much after so long with so little. I thought I was dying.”

They’re barely home for an hour when Casey’s breath catches in his throat.
It’s sudden enough that he chokes mid-word and starts to cough, his body trying to clear its airway except that there isn’t any blockage there to dislodge. When he finally manages to suck in a breath that fills his lungs halfway, it rattles in with an audible reedy wheeze.
Maybe no one noticed, he thinks hysterically, and lifts his eyes to find his entire not-family staring at him from their various positions around the room.

Part of the reason why outer space had seemed so, well, spacious was how easy it was to pass through it all. Constant steps weren’t needed. All he had to do was give a good jump and there he was, soaring through the cosmos. It was almost like he was flying. In another world, it would’ve been fun to explore a foreign galaxy.
Earth wasn’t like that. Earth was knees knocking together as they struggled to keep him up. It was crutches and physical therapy and chronic pain that’d follow him until he was old and gray. The expectations settled on his chest like stones, stacking on top of every other problem in perfectly topped piles.
He was so heavy now, he thought.
“Do you want a hand?” April asked quietly, eyes wide. Leo’s stomach twisted. She looked so scared. He hated seeing his strong sister so down.

It was never easy for him to talk about his problems, his worries. And, to be honest he liked it that way. No matter how open he seemed, Leo was a secretive person. And he enjoyed that, he enjoyed having the privacy to think about everything on his own. To allow all the hateful and intrusive thoughts flow through until there were no more and he could be free to exist in peace for a few more hours, and his brothers knew that.
They knew him.
Apparently that wasn't true.

Leo expected several things when he portaled into Run of the Mill an hour after it closed. He expected the wait and kitchen staff to all collectively roll their eyes before begrudgingly going about their business. He expected Hueso to give a token sigh before waving him away to his office instead of making him leave like he always threatened to. He expected to munch on leftover breadsticks and fill Hueso in on his week; that he'd got the new highscore in Battle Crashers, that they'd stopped a group of new mutants who all thought armed robbery was the cool new thing to do.
That Mikey was on his last week of PT and Raph was showing signs of regaining vision and Leo had managed to get a full eight hours of sleep the other night.
What Leo didn't expect was to walk in with a smile and his usual cheeky “Hey bone man, did I miss the rush?” only to find Hueso surrounded by a group of unfamiliar Yokai, hands tied behind his back and a noticeable crack in his skull.
or The past shows up at Hueso’s door and Leo is dragged into the middle of it.

In a flash, the mutant had Michelangelo pinned to the wall, one sword pressed against his throat close enough that the slightest twitch would send a waterfall of blood cascading towards the floor. His beady eyes narrowed into slits. “Where’s Raph?”
Oh. This – did not bode well.
Michelangelo held up a single trembling finger, pointed directly at Donatello’s one and only red-accented brother with anger issues.
The mutant didn’t even glance Raphael’s way. “Don’t bullshit me. Tell me where Raph is, or I’ll play tic-tac-toe on your kneecaps.”
“That’d be a hell of a game,” Michelangelo mumbled, and Donatello saw his life flash before his eyes. Not Donatello’s life, though. Michelangelo’s life. All the dumb shit his little brother had gotten away with; losing the T-Pod behind Donatello’s back, pulling daredevil stunts behind Sensei’s back, staying up late behind Leonardo’s back – Michelangelo did a lot of stupid stuff when people weren’t watching. He really did need constant supervision.
Or, 2018 Leo gets pulled away from the fight against the Kraang in the Rise movie that ends with Raph captured. When he shows up in the 2012 universe, he's not exactly in the best mood.
