Moan2 is many things all at once; Gotham's hottest new party drug, an awful scourge that Dick and his family can't seem to stem, and an unassuming pill that strips its user of all free will and autonomy. Dick knows intimately just how dangerous this pill is, but it doesn't matter how much he tries or how hard he works, he just can't solve this case.
As more users become hooked, more dealers turn up dead and more people disappear from clubs never to be seen again, Dick feels his desperation grow. He'll do anything to solve this case. He'll give everything to save all of those people. He'll give it all.

It doesn’t matter if Dick always feels Catalina's hand on the back of his neck, or her breath ghosting against his lips. He needs Nightwing. He needs to do good. How else will he counterbalance the sin weighing on his soul? So he’ll lie to his brothers, to Bruce, to Alfred. He’ll even lie to his reflection in the mirror. Because he knows that he'll be alright eventually. He'll be fine.

Dick finds himself opening the back passenger door and climbing in like he is a man possessed. “I knew you’d be fine! B was the one freaking out, I was like ‘dude, he’s Nightwing, he’ll be fine!’ but B’s B, ya know-” Robin is saying, his words running together in his excitement, (“I’m right here,” Bruce mutters, but both boys ignore him). “-and then he told me to wait in the batmobile in case he needed a surprise back up, y’know, and-” the boy cuts himself off abruptly, turning to look at Dick more clearly. “Are you naked?”
Dick smiles sheepishly at Robin before nodding, “Yeah, I dunno why they always wanna strip me. Seems like it’s just more work for them, but y'know, I’m not one to judge.” Robin seems to find himself unable to speak as he just nods slowly, eyes worryingly wide and face bright tomato red. “You okay?” He asks, reaching up to touch the boy’s shoulder.
“Sit forward in your seat, Robin,” Bruce sighs.

Vash had been dead for two years when Nicholas found him again. During a game of cards, an older man spoke of his grandmother who’d seen a man that’d looked like a shooting star running through her fields of wheat and saltgrass, only to vanish at the town’s eastern border. From what she’d seen of him, he’d looked too sad to make a wish on, and she hadn’t much liked the idea of wishing on a dead man in the first place.
The story hadn’t been much of anything. It certainly didn’t tie to the lake in any concrete way, and it didn’t mention July, and it didn’t have the tension that every other rumor did.
But Nicholas finds himself in some stranger’s grandmother’s hometown north of July anyway, a couple hours’ ride up a highway that looked to be maintained only by the grace of God and hand-mixed pitch. It’s bigger than July, but that isn’t saying much. Its defining feature is a bar that markets itself as a Real Western Saloon, complete with swinging doors and a dusty piano that plays two hairs offkey to keep the tunes jaunty. What’d once been those saltgrass and wheat fields sport maize these days, and they stretch for yarz down the highway.
When he breathes in, he can taste lakesand against his tongue. He presses it to the roof of his mouth as a reminder, as an omen.

The Master breathed out slowly and reached up, hands smoothing out some wrinkles in the Doctors awful suit. His fingers wandered down, gripping the lapels of that even more awful brown coat and pulled the Doctor closer, down to his eye level. Their noses were almost touching now and the Doctors brown eyes widened, staring back at him in surprise.
“Okay, I’ll give. Want me to tag on after you, sure. I can do that. But you know, just while I’m at it…”, The Master purred, voice dropping low with a devilish grin spread wide on his face.“I’m going to make your life a living hell, Doctor.”
