So maybe there's consequences for your actions. Leo's still getting used to the concept, sue him, he didn't sign up to be leader. Raph did, but now Raph won't take it back because unfortunately for everyone Leo's doing kind of well in the leadership department. He's suffering from success. It's a tough life.
They're all tired and hungry, and Leo feels that in every aching bone. Sadly, no pizza joints are open — the true hallmark of a nearly averted apocalypse, people are focused on all the wrong things: friends, family, homes, and not what some sad and weird sewer turtles are going to eat for dinner (nothing at this rate).

Leonardo isn’t rescued from the Krang Prison Dimension by his brothers, forced to flee from his cellmate in the void. The greatest ninja warrior of all time has to learn how to adapt to his new home, traversing low gravity, discovering the usefulness of spaceship corpses from worlds far beyond his own, and finding ways to survive such a harsh abandoned world.
Just my go at the idea of Leo not being saved since I got a bunch of ideas I wanted to write with the concept of Leo becoming a scavenger in the prison dimension.

Baron Draxum at some point started to see the turtles less as rogue creations turned allies, and more as children he did in fact play a significant part in creating. Trying to form bonds with them and be in their lives is a bit complicated with their history however. Plus, he has one hell of a co-parenting situation to navigate if he wants to try.

“Dude, you need to get over here NOW, man! It’s bad! It’s really bad!” Casey’s voice came through the speaker, squeaky with panic.
Donnie felt icy fear constrict his chest. A thousand scenarios of a severely injured or maimed Leo crossed his mind all at once. Oh, let him still be alive. Please, let his big brother still be alive! “Casey! I need you to calm down and talk to me! What’s the situation? Is Leo badly hurt?!”
“Leo’s a turtle!” Casey was on the verge of hysterics.
Dead silence.
Donnie's eyelid twitched. He briefly entertained a short fantasy involving his bo staff and Casey’s remaining teeth, then forced himself to take several deep breaths. Patience. He needed patience with this special boy. “Casey...” he asked in a little too kindly voice. “Just how many times did Raphael hit you in the head tonight?”
“No, I mean he’s a normal turtle now!” Casey snapped.
“Wait, Casey...” April was horrified. “Are you saying...?”
“I’m saying that I could use Leo as a hockey puck right now!"
No Leos were actually demutated in this story.

He’s dying. Leo is dying. Casey’s words from earlier rattle around in his brain, reminding Leo what all this was for. This is for the better, isn’t it? Even with his muddled thoughts and cloudy brain, he was sure that this was for the better (it had to be). He curled his fingers tighter around the family photo, drawing it to his chest as he was blown back through the air (was he crumpling it? you ruin everything, leo). Pain was a distant memory, tears a welcome friend as Leo floated away from his tormentor.
A faded sense of recognition came to him, then. An old lecture Donnie had given, after Mikey had been drawing dandelions on scrap paper with his brand-new crayons. Donnie had, ever the one for positivity, gone on a long-winded rant about how the weeds stole from those around it. “They’re incapable of surviving alone,” he’d said, “they only get by because they sap up all the nutrients that would go to the surrounding plants. Why would you be fond of a weed like that?”
“All the plants around it would be better off without the dandelion.”
. . .
Leo is faced with a difficult question as he dies: is this really for the better?
