John Grace has been running for as long as they could remember. This was all worth it, for one day they could prove themselves to be worthy, to be clean of their sins.
Expendable has been departing that godforsaken submarine for, not exactly as long as he could remember. This was not worth it in the slightest, but there was nothing to do about it but roam the Hadal Blacksite’s halls day after day after day after day.
Guest has been in that hotel for as long as she could remember. Was this worth anything at all? She didn’t know, but she was beginning to doubt it after every death and loop.
Perhaps it is better this way after all.

Meanwhile, Griefer finds an exact doll replica of Player and reacts...in a way that no one would have ever expected. A little too protective, perhaps.

He stared for a second, deep in thought. He didn't even know what this was, let alone what it could do. And for it to just claim that it could bring Noli, could bring his kids back. It felt almost fake, like a trap. He didn’t know if it was worth the risk.
…What would be the risk though?
He had nothing to lose, and nobody seemed to like him here. If he were to end up dead, he doubted it would matter in any way. One less mouth to feed. And by Telamon, did he miss his kids.
The figure stared at n7, raising a shadowy, weirdly geometric hand out of the water as if it were to shake 7’s hand.

He stared at the hand.
And shook it without a word.
