Summary
Long ago, it was said that the earliest dragons were humans in hiding. The stories told of how there were human beings with wings and fangs, that they possessed power and gifts much like the dragons. The tale spoke of how as the dragons were hunted, most of them turned to flee the earth, seeking refuge on the moon. Where a royal line of dragons; the Moon Dragon, lived and ruled peacefully. And as most of them fled, the story dwindled down to simply being an old wives tale.
However, with Hiccup’s new discovery of befriending Toothless and the relationship between the Vikings and the dragons on the mend, these old tales began to resurface. Most of those who heard it, laughed off the tale. Little did they know, the old legends were only just awakening, and that the chase for the last Moon Dragon had only just begun.

“Who the hell are you?” Jack looked him up and down, utterly bewildered.
The stranger startled, finally righting himself so he could turn to Jack. “Jack—” he coughed, before continuing, “Jack Frost?”
Jack’s eyebrows raised.
“...Do I know you?” he asked slowly, trying to find something familiar about his figure, his mask, or even his weird nasally voice, but nothing rang any bells. “I don’t think we’ve met.”
“Oh, no no, I uh…” Facing away from Jack, the spirit then turned towards the horizon and started to drift away. “I keep to myself.”
“So you know who I am but I still don’t know who you are.” He squinted even more curiously at the stranger, a grin growing at this new mystery. It wasn’t often that he met a brand new spirit, after all.

Astrid’s view of the world changes when she starts seeing illusions of a stranger with white hair after a run in with a traveler. She soon comes to realize this man is not normal in the least and possibly a god.
The man can see her too but Jack is convinced it’s his minds way of dealing with the loneliness, the winds being his only friend. That changes when they have their first true conversation and she warns him. “It sounded like you’re somehow destined to find us.
Strange interactions with other mysterious travelers doesn’t make their ties clearer. Even Hiccup meets a stranger who knows too much and calls him “The Heart” as clearly as any of his other titles.

Summary
When a distress call from Father Time turns out to be a trap set by Pitch, Jack ends up lost in a time before the Guardians with only Baby Tooth at his side. The two immortals are lucky enough to be found by a group of (somewhat) sympathetic teenagers whom they quickly befriend, including the awkward and funny leader of Berk's Dragon Academy. Before long Jack finds himself assimilating into Berk's culture and way of life. Even though he is effectively stuck, with new friends by his side Jack finds he doesn't mind taking the long road back to the present.

Midoriya notices a cloaked stranger staring at one of his pieces.
“Yeah,” he answers, clearing his throat when his voice breaks. “Do you like it?”
The stranger doesn’t answer but he takes one step forward the painting, his head tilting as he examines it. He turns to him, his face concealed by the hood.
“You have a particular style. Very unique from the others I’ve seen.”
Unsure if it’s a praise, Midoriya decides to play it safe. “I don’t want to pressure you or anything, sir, but I’m leaving soon.”
The stranger’s inspecting another canvas, showing women washing clothes in the waterfall on the village’s outskirts. “Such trivial subjects...”
“Listen, I paint what I want. If you don’t like it, don’t buy it.”
“On the contrary, I like it. I’ll buy them all.”
Midoriya’s jaw falls open.
“All of them?”
(An AU where Midoriya’s a court painter and faces Prince Shouto, his mysterious patron, as well as a rebel faction, murders within the castle and shark-like diplomats in a kindgom ruled by corruption and on the brink of war.)
