“Yes, I speak Russian,” he snapped, defensive and angry. He knew that it had been a mistake to even try to be friendly with Rozanov. “Why? Do I not look Russian to you?” He scoffed.
“No, not really,” Rozanov said. Some of his teammates laughed, although they mostly looked surprised that Shane was speaking to them at all. Rozanov didn’t laugh, though. “Are you Russian?”
“Go fuck yourself.”

The two of them are sitting in the cafeteria, all the way in the back right up against the wall, and the cacophony of the lunch rush swells around them. “You want to write someone a love letter? Like, on the pink paper with the red hearts all lovey-dovey?”
Denji groans and tips his head back. “Nah, dude,” he says. “It’s not a love letter. That makes it sound all girly and shit.” He pops a fry into his mouth, speaking around it. “Let’s call it a letter of appreciation. To let this person know that I… care about them.”
“Sounds exactly like a love letter.”
Denji and Yoshida strike up an unlikely friendship, passing notes back and forth in class. Eventually, the notes change from light-hearted and friendly to something more serious... and maybe just a little bit romantic?

Really amazing writing right here. A gritty and mature take on the wartime setting of avatar. The author is really good at getting into Zuko’s head and portraying how his father, the prison, and the war changed him. Prose is excellent. The tone is relatively lighter when Zuko’s w the Gaang but overall it has a much darker tone. Really engrossing read. Heavy and compelling.

So I know this sounds fake but I don’t really care. I found this spell in an old book I checked out while I was in Andorra. It was of course in Catalan but I translated it. I said the words aloud and thought of who I’d wanna use it on and suddenly when I get back home my best friend is all over me. I don’t know how exactly it happened but it’s what I wanted so I’m fine with it. Don’t bother with the ethics, that’s not why I posted this. I just wanted to share the translation so here it is:
Think of love. Think of a love so great it cannot be broken. Picture a face. They are tied to you, now and forevermore. Devoted in a way you have never known. May nothing but the truth and pain of heartbreak sever it.
If anyone tries it, let me know what happens!
