Furthermore, Jonathan Sims reads a statement from one Arthur Lester that feels far too much like a man reaching into a different sort of wasp’s nest, (or rather like one is reaching into HIM), and curiosity truly is an awful sort of thing. Jon has always been quite a moth to a flame, hasn’t he?

Summary
Arthur is not fully human, not anymore. Not after carrying a shard of a fragmented god of madness in his mind for so long, not after spending three months barely surviving in the dreamlands, not after successfully opening a portal to another realm to seal away a creature of nightmares. His body has energies and powers built up from all of these encounters, and the human body isn't meant to hold and all this energy and live. So Arthur's body starts to change without his knowledge, adapting to withstand and function with this inhuman energy.
Or, Arthur's been through the wringer and that has consequences. Such as becoming a weird little creature.

After everything, Arthur and John finally have time to figure out how to get John his own body. It isn't a pleasant process. It turns out that having a fragment of a god excised from your mind has some side-effects, and being a fragment of a god suddenly resident in a human ex-corpse isn't particularly straightforward either.
They'll help each other through it. They always do.
