Aziraphale watches Crowley dance around his flat, drunk on good wine and freedom, and cannot help but be drawn to the way he moves, so fluid and graceful and entirely unselfconscious. He’s so beautiful with his fiery hair in the setting sun and his burning, wild eyes. Utterly breathtaking. The image of the lithe demon enjoying his body so confidently reminds him of how little he has to offer the person he craves to be close to more than he’s ever wanted anything in his entire existence. The cutting remarks spoken from smiling lips in heaven sting sharply as he remembers all of his failings as an angel. He feels very small suddenly. Crowley‘s sulfur-yellow eyes flare hotly.

After the end of the world is averted, Crowley expects things to be less complicated, they both do, and when they're not it becomes clear to Aziraphale that he's been hurting his companions feelings in ways he hadn't realized. Now Crowley is clearly meaningfully upset with him.
Originally written as a 20% cracked premise... Just lighthearted -enough- to keep me from taking myself too seriously, but that has liberated me. So it starts with some ideas I was toying with, thinking I might write a drabble and get back to writing my novel, but then I came up with PLOT, so it gets progressively heavier and additionally sincere. We're dragging up and addressing everything. We are unpacking some millenniums-old boxes. If something doesn't seem to sit quite right, especially in the first few chapters, do know there is a HIGH likelihood I have dragged it back up to address it.
**Very horny with lots of implied kink potential for at least the length of two novels before resolving any sexual tension. Anxiety abounds.**

Crowley never thought twice about anniversaries before; It was just another one of those silly things humans decided needed celebration one day. Crowley never really saw the point of it. That was until a bright card caught his attention while on a normal food run for the fussy angel. Aziraphale and him celebrated many things over the years, but the day they met was never one of them.
Well, it wasn't like their old sides were going to stop them after that stunt they pulled. No, nothing was stopping Crowley from surprising Aziraphale with the last scroll from The Library of Alexandria over a candlelit picnic on their anniversary. Maybe except for the fact that he had to find the damn thing first, and lying to Aziraphale about the whole thing was even worse. Maybe Crowley should have known those old guardian instincts never went away.
Alternately: Crowley goes on a wild goose chase to locate the last intact scroll from the Library of Alexandria and Aziraphale is beyond concerned when the demon starts reeking of desperation.
