Summary
When the Byers family moves into the Wheeler house, Mike tells himself nothing has really changed. But late nights, quiet conversations, and Will’s growing anxiety about kissing lead Mike to offer to help him practice—an arrangement that quickly becomes more complicated than either of them planned.

Summary
"Working at the cafe has its ups and downs. For example, free smoothies, good. Annoying customers, bad. Will Byers, good. Will Byers, bad. In the few months since getting this job, Mike has maybe, just slightly, developed a huge crush on his coworker. In his defense, Will just makes it so easy. Shiny brown hair, shinier eyes, and the shiniest smile. Mike is so down bad that he can’t even think of another adjective. Will turns his head, and his silver hoop earring glints in the sun. Shiny. Mike thinks about quitting on the spot. He’d throw his apron on the ground and everything, really make a show of it. Maybe that’ll get Will’s attention. God, he’s a loser."

Summary
Dustin reached over to flick him in the middle of the forehead. “It'll be me and you, this summer, asshole. And because I am a top tier friend, you're welcome, by the way, I have secured us jobs working at the radio station this summer!”
Will opened an eye to peer at him. Dustin’s curls were sticking to his forehead under his hat and he looked ridiculous in his Hawkins High gold t-shirt and gym shorts. “You got us jobs?”
“I told you, Buddy!” Dustin leaned back beside him. “You and me this summer. This is going to be our summer.”
Or
Summer in Hawkins was supposed to be easy.
Instead, Will Byers gets a new house, a family that argues about Eggos and shower schedules, a brother who comes out before he does, and a best friend who keeps acting like Will is “just a friend.”
With the Party drifting, feelings piling up, and Dustin announcing Operation: Best Summer Ever, Will tries to make it through a summer that looks suspiciously like 1985—but hopefully ends better.

“So. Logical conclusion?” Dustin grinned down at him, pleased. “You’re in love with Mike and heartbroken that he and El made up. You’re welcome.”
Will sighed. “Dustin, I already knew I was in love with Mike.”
Will Byers is not avoiding his friends—he’s just busy.
Busy avoiding Mike Wheeler, busy lying about homework, and busy trying (and failing) to get over the boy he’s been in love with for years.
Unfortunately, Dustin Henderson has noticed. And he has a plan.

Sure enough, Mike is no longer sprawled across his bed like he was a few minutes ago and has migrated to the end of his chambers. Will watches with mild amusement as the stupid excuse for a prince attempts to balance on the narrow ledge beneath the window, arms out like he’s daring gravity to notice him and send him toppling to the ground outside.
“Do you remember,” Will asks mildly, “when you fell out of the apple tree that you insisted on climbing and broke your wrist?”
Mike doesn’t turn around. “I didn’t fall. I jumped.”
“You screamed on the way down.”
“I didn’t scream,” Mike mutters, petulance creeping into his voice. “Princes don’t scream.”
“This prince screams,” Will says. “In my ears, a lot.”
or, where Mike is a prince and Will is his long-term servant and best friend. Oh, and he's also a sorcerer on the side, and in love with said prince. This will end well, right?

“So—rink’s not too crowded, which is good. Less pressure.” He tilts his head toward Will, voice dropping just a little. “And if you fall, statistically speaking, people won’t be looking at you specifically.”

“No, it’s—it’s not that I have a responsibility, I want to. It’s a choice. I have…” Mike’s brows twist. It’s the end of the world but Will’s biggest problem is Mike Wheeler.
It shouldn’t bother him so much. After all, he’s the one who ripped off the bandaid. He’s the reason they’re not speaking anymore.

Summary
When Will needs to get his thoughts out of his head, he writes a letter he never intends to send. He addresses it to Mike, and tells him everything.
Feeling lighter than he has in weeks and buoyed by the adrenaline of writing it all out, Will acts on an impulse and ends the letter with, "If you’d be willing to give me a chance, I’d be really happy to date you. If you’re open to trying it, please meet me in Castle Byers this Saturday at 2:00pm. I’m not asking for any promises, I’m not asking for forever or anything like that; all I’m asking is that you give me a chance. Come if you want; if not, I completely understand, no hard feelings, and I’ll never, ever mention this again."
He forgets all about the letter, and the distinctive red envelope he stowed it in, until he turns around to find it missing. Now, Will has to think of some way to stop Mike from reading that letter - or should he wait at Castle Byers on Saturday at 2:00pm and pray for a miracle?

"Chance bit the inside of his lip. Truthfully, part of him believed Jason’s Hellfire theory was a desperate story fueled by the grief of losing Chrissy, but the more Chance watched Hawkins fall apart, literally, the more he felt his old logic snap into place. Maybe Jason had been right, the town had a wound and something crawled out of it, something that hid in plain sight. Chance didn’t believe in revenge, the Bible says justice belonged to God or the law. But, if there really was an evil in this town, wouldn’t it be just as evil to do nothing about it? To let it happen?"
OR
After losing two of his friends in the Hawkins “earthquake,” Chance joins a church grief group that believes Will Byers is the vessel for Satan. To prove them wrong, Chance agrees to befriend Will, but the closer he gets, the more the lines between faith, fear, obsession and love start to blur.
