On the island of Pasio, where trainers form sync pairs with their pokemon and team up with others for battles like nothing before, two brave kids from... actually, where they're from isn't important. The important thing is why they're here: to have a pokemon journey of their own, albeit a slightly unconventional one, and to win this tournament.
Look out, Pasio. Here come the Pikatwins!
...but first? They need more than two sync pairs on a team for the tournament, and technically there's no upper limit to how many people you can have on a team so long as you've only got three sync pairs on the field at any given time. And, of course, everyone on Pasio's got a Poryphone.
A group chat is only the natural solution, really. Hopefully someone will actually know what they're doing.

"It'll be in person, it shouldn't take too much longer than the length of the class period to complete, but this room will remain unoccupied for at least an hour afterwards and if you anticipate needing more time than that, contact me privately and I'll work with you."
Her Spiritomb underlines the word FINALS and starts to color in the letters with a different dry-erase marker. This one is hot pink.
Maeral Wysdan wasn't really sure what to expect out of fir first year at university. Ending up in a class taught by a guest professor? Sure, it's way too early in the morning but it sounds too interesting to pass up, even before fi finds out who the prof is.

A novelization of a playthrough of Pokemon Platinum, with some... minor changes.
Dawn and any others coming arrive late to the Spear Pillar. Cynthia arrives early. This would go fine if Cyrus didn't decide to leverage the power of not one but two gods to deal with her, sending Cynthia hurtling a year back in time—with full knowledge of what's going to happen, none of her pokemon, and another version of herself running around that absolutely cannot, under any circumstances, find out what happens early.
Oh, and that Buneary has a knife for some reason. That might be more concerning than the time travel and the whole impending doom thing.

Summary
Ash Ketchum was most of the way through his Johto Pokemon Journey when he tried out a magic potion intended to let him understand Pokemon better.
It certainly did that, though it also had some unintended effects that indicate he's got a very strange family history that even his mother isn't really able to elaborate on.Now in a new body as a Pokemon that nobody can quite recognize, mostly because Mythical Pokemon aren't very well studied, Ash's first step is to work out how to carry things again. His second step is to continue his quest to be a Pokemon Master!
Everyone else seems to think there should be more steps than that.
