The first bouquet had arrived on 14th February 2011. It was stunning. Shane had stared at the lilies in complete bewilderment, convinced there had been some mistake, that they couldn’t possibly be meant for him. Who would even send him flowers? Flowers like this didn’t just show up for Shane. Maybe they were from a fan, he’d thought; they looked far too expensive, far too elegant.
Then he saw the card. No name. Just three words.“Your favourite Lilies.”
Shane stares at the roses like they’ve personally betrayed him. His phone is already in his hand before he realizes it.
Jane: Lilies are still my favourite.(He deletes it immediately.)

I wanted to find a way to get some high-Shane-post-concussion-hospital-magic in a story, and what better way to do that than a nice little wisdom tooth extraction.
When the opportunity presents itself, Ilya ditches the MLH awards weekend in Vegas to fly out to Ottawa so he can help Shane through his dental surgery. Shane says too much, naturally, and the boys end up sharing a whirlwind twenty-four hours that will change their futures in the most wonderful way.
Because of some chompers, tuna-meldown never needed to happen.
"Ilya regretted not checking his carry-on—while totally unnecessary, it would have bought him an extra twenty minutes of staring at a spinning carousel before he had to face his impulsive offer to comfort the man he was used to pounding his dick into. Instead, he had about a fifteen minute walk to reconcile how after seven years of the same shit, he was about to become the man who could maybe offer more than just nine inches and an orgasm. The text came through as gibberish, and “Fuck.” Ilya threw his clothes back on and ran to get to Shane's hotel room. He'd been too far in his head to pay attention to Shane being quiet and shivering after they were done. Shane had stumbled getting out of bed, bumped into furniture, struggled with the door and Ilya had heard it but he'd been too much of a coward to get out of bed and check and now his submissive was sending gibberish texts and that wasn't good.
“Sorry sorry sorry.” Ilya muttered as he ran. “I’m coming. I’m coming, hold on.”
