When Teyvat becomes overrun by a deadly virus with unknown origins, Xiao is forced to hide in Wangshu Inn with a few other survivors. He doesn't know if they will survive; humans are very needy, after all, requiring food and water to survive.
He refuses to show it, but he is afraid. How could such a thing happen? Why was he unable to help in any way?
He hopes that this virus will die out before all of Teyvat does. That is all he can do.

Xiao rolled back and forth in his bed, arms wrapped around his waist and trying to tighten as much as he could. Fuck, his stomach hurt so bad.. He couldn’t wrap his head around it. He’d been completely fine all day during his date with Aether but as all the sudden hit with pain from Satan himself after showering.
He tried frantically to think back through the day. Had anything seemed off? Felt off? Xiao was usually very in tune with his body. There had been a little bit of pain earlier when Aether touched him, but he figured it was just him being nervous and tense. He’d also been a bit warm all day but it was just warm in Liyue anyway. Those two little bits of information didn’t really seem all that important.
But god, right now he wished someone would put him out of his misery.

Green's fingers are broken, and she can see the tears pooling up in his eyes, the way his gaze keeps darting over to the guitar, hanging on the wall. (Blue's just as broken as he is, but her hands went untouched—can't risk permanent damage, not if she's going to be a doctor.)
Mom showed her how to do this, on one of the days she brought her daughter in to work to see what she had to look forward to. A woman came in with a little boy, wailing despite Blue's best efforts to soothe him as his mother told the story of a game that got too rowdy and a hand that got caught under someone's shoes.
Blue watched as Mom nodded, looking entirely unbothered by the kid's screaming. She watched as she splinted his broken fingers, taking care with each one to get it set properly the first time. She was precise and accurate, and she did not have to repeat her work.
She was gentle.
Blue tries to be gentle now.
