Ah, the other shoe. In his lap, Kristoph’s hand clenches into a fist, stretching the skin over his scar. Gramarye and Wright, Wright and Gramarye, always coming back to those two infernal names.
“Your mouth is twitching,” Justice notes, and Kristoph hates that he noticed.
“I’m sick of that man,” Kristoph says. He’s not sure if he’s talking about Wright or Gramarye.
For the first time in two years, Kristoph speaks to his old apprentice.

His mother was a musician. He would sit in her lap while she sang to him in that voice which reminded him of ringing bells. She favored the acoustic guitar, and when she would lean over it to teach him how to play, her hair would fall in her face—long and blonde and soft. She was the most beautiful woman Klavier had ever seen.
He doesn’t remember it well. He remembers the feeling of her body growing colder and colder, and he remembers Kristoph lifting him out of her arms and into his—strong and protective. He remembers the police asking him a lot of questions he didn’t understand and then a woman in glasses with a clipboard asking him even more.
Heroin, they said it was. He wasn’t supposed to be listening of course, but when you tell a child not to do something, they’re going to do exactly that.
From then on, it was just him and Kristoph.
Klavier Gavin isn't having a very good life.
Or, Capcom refuses to give us Gavin brothers backstory, so I made my own.

Kristoph smiles. “You know, if I'd known you missed the “not guilty” celebrations so much I would have bought you a confetti cannon. I know the brand they use at the courthouse.”
“How kind,” Phoenix says. He brushes the rest of the wrappers off the side table, just to see Kristoph’s face tighten when they all scatter across the carpet, and smiles up at the defense attorney. “You’ve been here almost a minute now, where’s my welcome home kiss?”

Like Wright’s an overenthusiastic fan who’s caught him while he’s busy and won’t take a hint.
Wright knocks a fist against the doorframe, somewhat absent-mindedly. “I want lunch,” he says, finally. “The bus takes forever, give me a lift back into the city, will you?”
In which Klavier and Phoenix are smart enough to finally have that conversation about the past, and dumb enough to do it in two parking lots and a burger barn drive-thru. There's no accounting for taste.

What if the Resistance decides Louis needs to die a little earlier? Say, three years earlier?
Gallica and Will are sent off on a mission: to meet with the Resistance agent, Grius, and aid him on his mission to kill Louis. Naturally, there's problems. They don't know where he is, what he plans, or how they're going to survive long enough to get near him.
Their only option is a cautious infiltration. After all, it's said that Louis will accept anyone into the Whiteclads. And a bright, ambitious young elda is certain to eventually catch his eye.
But killing a man in cold blood in a hard thing. Even harder when there's feelings involved.
Harder still when you begin to wonder if your target might feel something back.
