He thought if he moved or made any notion that he wasn’t feeling great, the team would be on him in a second, making sure that their youngest member wasn’t in any pain. He didn’t hate them for that, in fact he found it almost endearing, but it made him feel a bit awkward. They already babied him enough. Besides, there wasn’t really anything for him to throw up anyway. He couldn’t remember why. He just knew he hadn’t eaten anything substantial in awhile. He could if he tried; if he allowed himself to put a little more effort into thinking. But he didn’t feel like it. For one of those rare moments in his life, he didn’t want to think at all. He just wanted to rest.

While she knew that Klaus had been able to summon their brother, once at the Icarus Theatre, Allison was surprised by the question. It had been made clear that Ben hadn’t made it to 1963 with them and honestly, so much time had passed since that fateful night, Allison was beginning to think that the summoning had been a fluke. Or a miracle. Or maybe she'd simply imagined the entire thing. Either way, it seemed like a one-off event.
However, her siblings were talking about Ben as if he’d just popped to the store for some milk, rather than dying tragically sixteen years ago.
“He’s gone,” Klaus’ voice cracked, “Benny finally took his ticket to heaven. Didn’t he?”
He sat up on the bed in a flash, startling all of them, looking to Vanya for confirmation.
Vanya nodded slowly, “He sacrificed himself to save me, and the world in the process.”

Before Richie (the second time), Eddie didn’t like to be touched. Casual touches from coworkers would find him frozen, tense, like cracked glass about to break, fleeting brushes from passersby on the street sent him rushing to him the nearest washroom or into a violent eruption of rage, but worst of all were touches from Myra. Looking back, Eddie knows why her touches gave him the most visceral reactions, but at the time he just thought he didn’t like to be touched, that he simply wasn’t a tactile person.
That all changed after Richie. After Derry. After almost dying. A lot of things changed after all of that.
