Summary
Assumes knowledge of Season 4 of Lucifer. Chloe and Lucifer work on their relationship even though he's in Hell and she's not. This is a romance - Deckerstar to be exact. This story is about relationships - no big antagonist. In writing this one, I've ended up going sadder and darker than I normally do, but if you can get through the heavy moments, I do promise a happy ending. I found it difficult to write and have been working on it for a very long time. Constructive criticism accepted - if it's confusing let me know and offer suggestions. If you don't like it, don't read it. If you do like it, please comment. Please note, I have rewritten the final chapter. It was just too fluffy even for me - that's what happens when you try to throw everything and the kitchen sink in there. So take a look at Chapter 19 again - I think its more in character and all around a fitting ending. Thanks again and I do hope you find satisfaction in the conclusion of this story. Enjoy!

As Lucifer walked across the room towards the Detective's desk, he noticed that the figure sitting there was definitely not the Detective. The figure was quite a bit smaller, and much more inclined to sticky hands and impulsive hugs. She, however, didn't seem to notice him and was rather subdued. He thought it was strange to see her so unlike her usually happy and (unfortunately for him) clingy self. So much so, in fact, that he found himself making his way over to her and asking (without thinking or really even being conscious of the act), "What's wrong, child?"
Beatrice Decker jumped and tried to smile at him when she realized who had approached her. "Hi, Lucifer..." she said instead of answering his question.
"Yes," he replied absently, trying to think about anything else but the child in front of him (he couldn't). He watched as she looked down at the table; she didn't even try to hug him as she usually did. "Spawn," he called to get her attention. When she looked up at him, he found himself kneeling down to her level. "What's the matter, darling?" he asked, his voice gentle and soft (so unusual when applied anyone who wasn't his Detective).

Summary
SPOILERS. Do not read if you have not watched the Season 3 Finale. You have now been fairly warned!!!
Chloe's immediate reaction to seeing Lucifer's devil face is explored. Both she and Lucifer take some time off from each other following the shocking aftermath of this event. Before long, however, they are both diving right into a "simple, open-and-shut" case on their first day back as partners.
This is my take on Season 4, taking place right after 3x24 A Devil of My Word. Some cannon from Boo Normal and Once Upon a Time has been weaved into the plot. I have taken some creative license of my own, and there are a few important diversions.
As usual, shoutout to my favorite group of writers (I'm Team #LuciferSaved #LuciferOnNetflix all the way). I don't do this for money, just as practice writing stories for one of my favorite shows out there. Never do I pretend to be good at it or own any rights to anything. So please, please don't sue me.
