His shoulders slumped as he repeatedly tossed a dagger into the air and caught the handle as it came back down, “You’re no fun.”
You both paused for a moment and he took a seat across from you and you watched the plan form in his head before he even spoke, “Hypothetically.”
“No.” you shot down instantly.
“I haven’t even said anything yet.”

Kanzaburo was famous, or rather infamous, for being slower than most crows due to his age, yet he was very eager. One day he was particularly fast to send Tomioka Giyuu, the Water Hashira onto a mission.
The mission was located at Mount Kumotori at a small village; allegedly lots of people have been going missing near that area. Perhaps it'd be a Lower Moon. No big deal for a Hashira like Tomioka, even if he was the worst one of all of them.
Now something that was a challenge, even for the best of Hashira, was facing the demon king himself all alone.

It was obvious to anyone that this was the last strike for both opposing parties, and whoever loses would have to fall on to the ground and die as the first rays of the sun flood the sky.
In a more familiar timeline, the loser died with the young demon slayers listening and crying over his kneeling dead body, yet the loser felt no shame. He died with the sweetest, happiest smile on his face as he joined his mother on the other side.
