“Th’s feels like an abdu’tion,” the guy slurred, blinking slowly up at Arthur. “Most- most people don't h’ve drivers ‘n call.” Arthur snorted.
“I offered to take you to the hospital,” he pointed out. The man hummed.
“Could’ve been lying,” he retorted as Arthur maneuvered his head to lay in his lap. Arthur nodded.
“Yes, I suppose I could. But there’s nothing you can do about it now, hmm?”

Merlin runs into Arthur while running from his would-be kidnappers. Arthur decides to help him and ends up in the middle of something neither of them had anticipated.

Merlin shook his head, less because he disagreed and more because he didn’t understand how the dragon could be so confidently wrong about the source of this problem.
“Arthur’s been enchanted into love with the Lady Vivian,” he explained, “but that wasn’t Morgana. Or, I’m almost certain it wasn’t Morgana. Do you know of a way to break a love enchantment? He’s about to get himself killed.”

Arthur knew what a Sigil represented; a concept he had been introduced to as a young prince, late on those evenings his father could stand his presence for more than a moment. A marriage proposal of the deepest and most romantic kind, a callback to the traditions of old – especially along the Pendragon line.
As such, his message was clear.

Summary
Merlin is well aware that a price has to be paid to ensure that magic is freed. He's also aware of the spear sticking out of his side and Uther charging towards him. Is now the time to pay that price? AU version of Death Song of Uther Pendragon. Part 1 in my Magic Reigns Free Series. This work is a rewrite of a story I wrote years ago on FFN.
SNEAK PEAK: "He has magic and must die," Uther insisted. "If he lives, he will destroy the kingdom I have worked so hard for."
"No," Merlin weakly squeaked.
Arthur glanced over at Merlin. He had heard what his father had said but paid it no mind. Merlin needed to be rescued right now. He could not waste time arguing with the ghost of his father. If he did, Merlin would surely die.
"You had your turn. It's my kingdom now," Arthur stated as he put the horn to his lips and blew.
As soon as his father was gone, Arthur rushed to his manservant's side and got him down as quickly as possible. He laid his body on the floor and yelled for anyone who could possibly hear him as he put pressure on Merlin's wound. Merlin howled in pain before losing consciousness altogether.

Summary
There are distant yells, a group of knights gathered at the wall, pointing and shouting in his direction. He watches with little interest, as the group scatters like mice in the armoury, and soon the lower gate is opening. Two knights, riding full speed towards him, and Merlin swallows slowly as he recognizes the riders.
