Harry glares. He opens his mouth, and feels the beginning the snake’s language pass his lips, and this isn’t what he wants, what’s the point of insulting Malfoy if he can’t understand him –
Malfoy’s eyes widen. He slaps his hand over Harry’s mouth, “Potter, what the hell–”

It’s not though, not really. He’s only been officially dating Flint for a couple of months, but really, Silver had known the truth of himself from the moment he’d told Vane’s man no. He’s had plenty of time since then to adjust to being a subject of public scrutiny, a one-legged creature to scorn and ridicule; this shouldn’t be any different. It shouldn’t matter.
“I’ll do better,” Silver promises, even as he still wrings his hands under the table. “I’ll get better at this.” It’s the least Flint deserves after everything.
Flint rubs at his beard thoughtfully, surveying Silver like he’s some kind of puzzle. “I have an idea,” he says after a moment. “If you’re amenable, that is. A sort of… official coming out event.”

The dangerous glint returns to Flint’s eyes, and in an instant he has regained the upper hand. “Hm. And what exactly is it that you have imagined?” There’s a slight edge to the last word, and Flint’s voice is a low, rumbling growl.
Silver is caught, and he knows it. Knows that he put himself here. If he’s honest he knew that he would find a way to put himself here as soon as he had registered what Flint told him. He’s not wrong. He thinks back over their association and knows he’s not wrong. It makes sense now.
___________________________________Know how there's that part in 3.10 where they talk honestly about their feelings and then kiss? You know? That part, where it fixes canon? This is that.
