This isn't actually a fic but an unfinished fic idea that I am never going to write, could not work out how to end, but have developed enough that it might be interesting to read, might inspire some ideas in other writers, or might even inspire someone to take up the idea and flesh it out properly into a real fic, so I am putting it up here in case anyone is interested.
