"GO!" Steve and Robin both shout in unison, voices strained as they held back the cold metal door with all their strength. Its a miracle they've lasted this long, throw what it sounded like on the other side of the door held at least 4 Russians, Robin wouldn't be surprised if there were more.
"I-" Dustin stammered, Robin could see Erica tugging on his shorts from inside the vent. "I won't forget you!" And with that the vent slammed shut onto of him, Dustin disappeared with Erica as she and Steve finally gave out. Robin hit the floor with a harsh thud, slamming into Steve side and instinctively raising both her hands up as if to say Congratulations, you caught me fair and square.

There. That tangle of thick vines… she recognised it. That was right by where Steve had been attacked earlier. She moved quickly over to it, spotting the three dead bats clumped together, black blood spreading from their bodies.
If that was where Steve had been attacked, that meant that the gate was just a few feet behind her. Nancy whipped around, stepping blindly forwards, eyes raking over the ground ahead of her.
The gate was nowhere to be seen.
They were too late.
“Oh shit.”
