Summary
Derry summers are a hazy thing, the unrelenting heat leaves the citizens of the quaint and dreary town feeling both languid and restless. Days are filled with eyes constantly seeking out the next spot of shade and large groups of teenagers relishing in the cool air of the refrigerator corner of Keene’s pharmacy.
The sweltering heat may be all encompassing for most people but Richie has far more important things on his mind. His room is shrouded in smoke and it almost surprises him as he glances once again to check that his window is in fact open. His fingers twitch against the lit joint in his hand as its twin explores the back of his best friend.
He has a lap full of Eddie Kaspbrak and the sweetest (most fear inducing) boy on the block is about as stoned as someone his size can get at eleven in the morning. Richie could spend the rest of his life like this, he thinks, as he chases Eddie’s tongue with his own.

Eddie froze once he felt Richie's hand on him, like he was having to process what was happening. He glanced up at him, but Richie was looking away, like this was no big deal. He held it throughout the entire turn, but didn't let go even after the bus had stabilized itself. It would be a nice time to note that Eddie was absolutely obsessed with Richie's hands. His hands and his arms. They made frequent apperances in his fantasies, (which were also all about Richie). How strong they were, how /big/ they were. What it would feel like to have Richie hold him like that. But there he was, holidng him like that. And now Eddie knew what it felt like.

Eddie glances down as Bill says that and his face goes bright red. He also purses his lips, maybe to keep himself from saying anything, maybe to keep himself from insulting Richie.
“Wuh-we wanted to make shuh-sure that you were okay,” Bill starts, “I mean, according to Eddie, you left pretty suddenly this muh-morning, and if you’re sick we thought you might need some dinner, or your huh-homework from today, or something.”
“I don’t need my homework,” Richie blows out a puff of smoke to his left, and continues, “And I’m not sick.”
Richie glances over at Eddie for a second. He’s still just… staring at Richie’s bare legs. Okay, so that’s something to think about later, maybe.
“Okay, so what’s wrong with yuh-you?” Bill sort of impatiently asks. “We’re huh-here to help you Richie.”
Richie hesitates for a second. “…It’s kinda hard to explain.”
