Tim Drake is undercover investigating a potential serial killer who's using Gotham as their hunting ground when Jason returns from an off-planet mission with the Outlaws. The only problem? The investigation has put him thoroughly into The Red Hood's territory and blowing his cover or bringing him in this investigation is not worth the risk.
The last thing Tim expects after their first run-in with eachother is Jason's interest in the person he's pretending to be.

Standing on Levi’s porch. Nothing between them but breath.
Eren spoke. Not loud. Not sure. The words felt pried from a rusted cage inside his chest. “I… shouldn’t have come.”
“Yes, you shouldn’t,” Levi said simply. “But here you are. So I ask you again, Eren Jaeger… why”
“I thought that maybe… you,”
Levi knew, all at once—and not quite at all—what lived at the end of Eren's unfinished line. His heart ached both for himself and for Jaeger, or maybe for the sheer unfairness of honesty turned burden.
There was a time when Levi would have acknowledged the underlying meaning with a curt nod.
I know. I see you. I feel it too. But we are both bound to things greater than this. Take solace in knowing. It’s what I can offer.
One a privilege—lost. The other, a gift returned.

“I need your help,” Tim says. “I need - “ again, the liquid sloshes in his cup. He releases it to rub his hands over the fabric of his pants. “I need your help.”
“Do you?” She is usually not the one approached for these sorts of things. Jason gets the calls, and Roy charms his way into information. She is merely a companion, one that most people stay away from. “What sort of help do you require, Tim Wayne?”
There’s a flinch, so minute anyone else would have missed it. He lets out a harsh breath and grabs for his drink once more. He yanks his mask down in one swift motion and brings the straw to his lips. He drinks like someone who hasn’t had water in days, with a single minded determination Kori has seen plenty of men use to go at bottles in dark lit bars.
His face is flushed. The red comes through in blotchy patches made worse by the stark white that splatters the lower left of his jaw. On his cheeks are two reddened slashes. They start at the corners of his lips and cut up towards his ears in diagonal lines.
“Sanctuary,” he says, when his cup is empty and his mask is up once more. “I seek sanctuary.”

Tim stares him down coldly. His heart races in his chest, but Jason doesn’t need to know that. Jason needs to see that he will not be walked over, that Tim is his mother’s son and has plenty of teeth of his own.

Damn it. Somehow this turned into Jason taking a job in the family business, which would be well within his comfort zone if they were a mafia syndicate, instead of the proprietors of a business that generated a significant fraction of America's GDP.
Jason has reservations about this.
There is one consolation in this hellscape of paperwork, meetings, snotty IT workers and being co-workers with his idiot brothers. He meets an intern named Tim, who never fails to make him smile.

Tim Drake leads a...mostly normal life, helping people get the best insurance they can afford. Soon though, he finds himself embroiled in a plot that involves Robin trying to take him down, and Batgirl possibly helping. Add to the mix Red Hood using him for information, and a strange young man walking into his office under false pretenses, Tim finds that his mostly normal life is about to completely change.
Tim knew there were worse jobs in Gotham than insurance agent, but he’s hard pressed to think of another at the moment. As he shoots off an email to a client about looking into their claim asap, he hears the glass door to the small insurance office open and watches Stephanie Brown,the goddamn Batgirl, walk into the agency and catch his eye. He puts 'masked vigilante' at the top of the list.

Ever since he'd picked up that sorry elf from the mind flayer ship crash, Rowan had hated Astarion. He was mouthy, flirtatious, and an overall nuisance, and that was coming from a bard. So why, by the gods, did Astarion seem to carry that deep sense of connection that Rowan wanted so desperately to explore? For better or for worse, their fates were intertwined, and Rowan was determined to tug on that thread to find out what - or who - lay at the end of it.

But said paladin immediately frowns, “Categorically not when I’m asleep. If I’m losing blood I want to be conscious and consenting.” Astarion doesn’t get why he wouldn’t take the easier option, but then he notices a pink flush creeping up Revenant’s neck and ears… and it occurs to him that maybe he’s misread the situation. The stilted-ness isn’t unhappiness, it’s fluster.
Revenant also knows he’s flustered, and exhales in short, sharp annoyance. He squares his shoulders and continues in a forcibly stern tone, “My proposition is - that I’ll let you bite me, but I want to bite you back.”
It’s Astarion’s turn to be caught off guard, “Excuse me?”

(Or: a self-appointed vengeful ghost meets a vampire spawn, and reluctant sparks fly. Loosely follows the BG3 plot with canon divergence to keep it interesting. Astarion/Tav, but they’re both terrible at romance.)

Summary

“I can do that.”
Two broken stars in a decaying orbit, passing closer and closer together until the inevitable, devastating collision.
Or, Tav is fucked up and down bad for Astarion, who doesn't quite see the appeal (but he's getting there). Sexual frustration, sloppy handjobs, a heavy dose of masochism, and way too many failed Insight checks ahead. Tav falls first, Astarion falls harder (eventually).
Or, a tragic-but-hopeful romance told through a series of incredibly ill-advised sexual encounters.
If you want to read a story where Astarion is sweet from the start and Tav is here to fix him, this isn't the one. If you want to read about two terribly broken men spending a good long while making each other worse before they make each other better, this might be for you. If you thought the in-game romance was a little too easy and it should have been ten times more painful and difficult to convince Astarion he's worthy of love, this is definitely for you.
Set during the canonical events of Baldur's Gate 3.

Astarion's eyes flick to Tav. And for the first time this evening, his gaze rests. Tav's face shows nothing, carefully composed, unreadable even to Astarion's cunning. It makes his gaze linger. Voluntarily or involuntarily, Astarion isn't certain. He doesn't care. What he cares about is the aura that Tav radiates. He has seen it many times over the years, in Cazador himself as well as in his master's enemies and allies; that promise of power. It's delicious.
Astarion sees a way out of two centuries of servitude and humiliation under Cazador Szarr in Tav, a fellow victim of the mind flayers' abduction.
His next steps are instinctive. Manipulation is what he knows, what he's good at, what his master kept him around for.
His plan works—until Astarion realizes that Tav might be more than he bargained for.

Allies with benefits turns into a sizzling slow burn. Our two idiots get to know each other by sharing good but mostly bad memories, fooling around, and making matters complicated.
