Summary
Then, for some godawful reason, the window latch clicks, pane sliding up with a rickety thin sound; Barry snaps his head around, skin raising at his neck as he slams down the kettle — knuckles cracking, hand moving to his belt incase he needs a weapon because Allen luck is just that bad — only to see one Hal Jordan, in full Corps uniform, shove his leg through the window and promptly get stuck in the tiny frame.
The same Hal, who’s wiggling his pelvis so he can jam himself through the panel without dislocating his femur. The same Hal who looks up at Barry, gives a breathy, awkward laugh and asks; “Uh, hi, Bar. Mind helping me through?”
“I—“ Barry doesn't think he’s ever been so glad to see his best friend, something in his chest unwinding at the sight of him being okay. “Hal?”

Not even the League could have this piss poor attempt at an invasion, because not even two minutes after Barry and Bruce slink after J’onn onto the ship, there’s a sharp gust of wind behind Hal, an abrupt stop, the light pittering of a very familiar energetic foot and — Hal breathes in, closes his eyes and thinks, hysterically, For fucks sake.
”Wally,” Hal begins very carefully, constructing a dome around them as more robots rush at them, clawing and scraping and trying to blast their ways through the barrier. “Do not tell me you and the other Teen Titans are on scene right now.”
”Uh, not all of us? Garth is a little late.”
Very slowly, dragging his feet, Hal turns around to see Wally in full Kid Flash costume, wild curls wind-swept, a half-anxious, shit-eating grin that Hal has seen one too many times on Iris’ face.
(Or, Day Three of Halbarry Week: World’s Best Uncle. There’s an invasion, the Titans showing up when they’re not supposed to and Barry and Hal somehow deal with the most stubborn nephew. Hey, at-least there’s ice cream in the end.)

Summary
The year is 2008, right at the tail end of the presidential elections. On the seventh of November, an Autumn Wednesday, the brutalised body of a queer woman is discovered at 16:28 in the alley of a run down borough of Queens.
Tony Stark catches wind of Spider-Man on the scene, which wouldn’t typically be that strange had not the guy been actively threatening the responding officers and refusing entry to the homicide scene.
Naturally, Tony forcibly involves himself in Spider-Man’s little crusade and finds more than he’s bargained for. Might as well get to know the kid while he’s at it, right?
(Or, the fic where Tony’s repression breaks down, Peter gains an ally, and they learn how to live with their collaboration-turned-genuine-bond thing. They’ll get there, eventually.)

“Daniel?” Buck chokes out, and Daniel turns to him, three sizes smaller than him, wearing green cargo shorts with cartoon elephant patches on them.
”Hey, Buck,” Daniel greets, voice so young and looking at him with Margaret’s eyes. Blue as the ocean sky and a smattering of freckles only on his nose, the slope soft from youth and red the way Chris’ always is. Because that's how kids are — features soft and red and pudgy. He’s amused when he adds: “Probably didn't think you’d see me?”
(Or, instead of Buck dreaming about what-ifs about Daniel, he gets to talk about Daniel with Daniel. Well, actually his unconscious taking on the form of Daniel — but that’s mostly irrelevant.)

“I said,” With grace, Shang Tsung leans onto the bone of his knees and focuses back on a tensed jaw Bi-Han, whose teeth grind at the fraction of close movement. “What were you like with your brothers when you were children?”
A foot slides in his direction. “And why—“ Bi-Han seethes, hand clenching in rising fury. “—is that any of your business.”
“You think lowly of me Bi-Han,” Shang Tsung points out, fingers spinning into wide gestures, face moulding into something resembling a poker face; had it not been for the pinch of his brows, he would have succeeded. “If we are to defeat the Shirai Ryu – so you can reclaim your clan's glory, and so I can in-act my revenge, we must know any emotional points that we can exploit for efficient takedowns. So, tell me, Bi-Han,” A lowered tone, something far beyond the realm of commanding. “What were your brothers like as children?”
A hesitant pause. Perhaps Bi-Han still stows some fondness away, be it from the way his mouth thins, as if holding something back.
(Or, Shang Tsung wrings out of Bi-Han what his relationship with his brothers used to be like.)

Summary
Ranboo hears something he wasn't meant to, and leaves his little house in the arctic to go back home. When he discovers that 'home' doesn't want him back, though, he has to face the reality that he is just as alone as he always was.
As time passes, most of the SMP gives up their search for him, but one person doesn't. They need to hurry, though. The longer he's alone, the more he wonders what there is to live for.
Far away from where he's alone in isolation, there grows a place for the abandoned. What will it take for him to find it, if he does? What are the stories of the others who find shelter there?
A dysfunctional family with members who all need help- he'll fit right in.
