After failing to stop the elder brain, Zevodur, Koi-Lu, and the others retreat to the Astral Prism with the Emperor's help. There it is revealed that the only way to stop the Netherbrain is through the use of a mind flayer wielding the stones.
Seeing his chance, Zevodur seizes it, revealing his true nature and obtaining Orpheus's power, along with the netherstones, for himself.

Summary
When the would-be heroes of the Sword Coast reach the final stand in their face-off against the netherbrain, their "oh-so-fearless" leader reveals the biggest secret of them all. Zevodur, as it turns out, is not a drow, but rather a mindflayer who has been playing the party like a fiddle the entire time. And then he gives the party a choice, to join him, or suffer the consequences. Feeling betrayed and heartbroken by the person he had promised his life to, Wyll reluctantly agrees if only to protect the people of his city.
Months have passed, the city is protected but under the watchful gaze of Zevodur and his army, but even with his resources, things still slip in the cracks. With his friends all following their own paths, Zevodur discovers a potential danger to Baldur's Gate and his rule and he must gather his allies once more to tackle this rising threat.
All the while, Zevodur and Wyll must come to terms with the feelings they still have for each other, despite the distrust formed between them due to the mindflayer's manipulation.

In an effort to distance herself from her violent and bloody past, Layla hides who she is from everyone around her. That is until she meets Jak and realizes she can no longer sit on the sidelines as Haven City and her own sanity begin to unravel at the seems.
Meanwhile the young hopeful and courageous hero of Sandover Village dies after years of experimentation and torture. When Jak finally escapes, he's no longer the same young man who went in. Filled with hate and blood lust, he vows to kill Baron Praxis and anyone else who stands in his way. Only for his eyes and heart to slowly be opened by a snappy red-headed mercenary who calls herself Harper.

Not all heroes are heroic, and no one knows that more than Akari Chinen. Born quirkless and beaten down by not only by her peers, but her family as well, young Akari's heart was slowly poisoned by hatred and rage. At least until she took matters into her own hands.
Now living under the care family friend, she slowly begins to put herself back together, but a darkness still lies within her heart. She knows the rot that festers within the society she was born into, and she knows it has to be changed from the inside or otherwise torn down by force.
With these goals in mind, Akari takes the first step by applying for UA's hero course. But as with all things in life, she could never have predicted what came next.

This is an alternate reunion One Shot Drabble I wrote for when Shepard and Nyralyn meet up again in Ghosts of the Past. As I've developed the story more, I decided to change it to something different, but I didn't want to delete this as it was fun and entertaining to me.
