"Scrooge! Help!" Dewey called, trapped between two burning sections of bridge. He glanced down at the chasm beneath him, but the bottom was in darkness. He looked back to his uncle in desperation, all bravado gone.
"Hold on, lad!" Scrooge called, desperately scanning the room for a way to get to his nephew.
"Ahhhhhhhh!" Scrooge heard a loud crack and a panicked yell as the bridge started to collapse. Reflexively, he reached out his hand as his nephew fell, but it was too late.
The boy was gone.
----Dewey's family believes he is dead, his brothers are devastated, and Scrooge falls into a deeper depression than ever. Meanwhile, FOWL puts new plans into motion, now that they have a valuable new pawn.

Summary
Duckburg has always been steeped in myths and legends surrounding mermaids and the McDuck Lighthouse, so when Fenton spotted a mermaid just outside the lab, he goes searching for answers. Not only does he find that the McDuck family is hiding secrets, but there is a darker side to the fantasical stories of the mermaids. mainly that they only appear when disaster will hit. He is driven to figure out why the meraid is following him and why the McDuck family is trying to hide the facts about mermaids? His biggest clue: Fethry Duck. The problem is that Fethry has been missing for three years.
Fenton delves into Duckburg history looking for answers, only finding more and more questions. Will he find the secret to the mermaid and why she appearing to him? Does her presence bode as an ill-omen? Or is there more to the whole story?
I used to update daily to see how far I had been able to progress day-by-day, but I think I'll post more chapter by chapter. The goal is to finish this story by the end of May.
