Somewhere in Liyue, the Liyueans were in a mixture of sadness and happiness. happy that although rex lapis was no longer around, his chosen one has arrived. Sadly they ship the said chosen one to Mr. Zhongli, consultant of the Wangsheng Funeral Parlor.
Long story short, two viral photos of Childe was leaked, the memory of dust was solved, everyone simps for Childe, the fatui are not happy, and Zhongli is most definitely turning into a green eyed dragon.

He remembers Zhongli taking a moment to respond.
"I...I see. I cannot say I did not see this coming. Very well.”
Childe's mouth is dry. He swallows around nothing, and there’s a flutter in his chest that could be a laugh or a cry.
"That's all you have to say?"
--Zhongli and Childe go their separate ways after the disaster at Liyue. Fate forces them to come together again.

He picked one of the hydrangeas and placed it behind Tommy’s ear with a smile, his hand soft as it lay on the brown-haired head resting on his shoulder. “Forever isn’t a long way away, Toms. Forever means always. And always means today, means tomorrow. And the next day, and the next day, I will never stop loving you.”
Tommy bit the inside of his cheek and giggled again. He picked at one of the blue flowers and placed it loosely in Phil’s blond hair, free from it’s usual hat or crown. “I love you too, Father. Forever, and ever!”

The third man, the one wearing the unnerving white mask with a sad face on it, tensed, hand slipping on a handle of a netherite axe, and got promptly elbowed to the avian.
“Yes. Our weird murderous cousin," he cheerfully agreed.
That was supposed to be a joke.
