Summary
“Someone got too enthusiastic, huh?” III teases, pushing down a twinge at the evidence that Vessel is a taken man. It figures. He’s too good looking and sweet not to be.
“My boyfriend likes to, y’know.” Vessel gestures at the marks adorning his throat. There really are a lot of them, and the longer III looks, the less he sees humor in the situation.
“Mark his territory?”
“You make him sound like a dog pissing on a tree.”
“More like a dog gnawing on a bone,” III jokes, but his heart isn’t in it. “You have to admit that this is pretty intense."
“He’s just being an alpha about it."
III wants his concern to be rooted in misplaced jealousy, but that sounds like it was taken from his mum’s old playbook.
When Sleep leads III to Vessel, he can't help but wish for more than a platonic pack bond. Unfortunately, Vessel already has an alpha. An insecure, jealous, rude little alpha, that clearly has no idea how to act or treat his packmates.
III never used to believe in the competitive posturing his fellow alphas put on, but maybe what II needs is for a real alpha to show him how it's done.

“I wasn’t before I went to sleep,” Vessel agrees. “But I think I might be, now.”
II runs his hand through his cropped hair to avoid reaching past the bedframe dividing him from Vessel. He desperately attempts to avoid why he feels like the space between them is a barrier he isn’t allowed to cross without permission, when a few days ago he wouldn’t have thought twice about sitting down beside Vessel, no matter the questionable state of his sheets.
“Ves, are you implying that you think you were bitched by a dream?”
It sounds even more ridiculous out loud.
“No,” Vessel denies, shifting in a way that makes his sheets drag eye-catchingly across the sweat pearling on his defined waist. He laughs without humor when he says, “I think it was more like I was bitched by a god.”
When divine intervention causes what is supposed to be the first night of Vessel's rut to become the start of his first ever heat, II is determined to give his boyfriend everything he needs. He only fears that, as a beta, he won't be able to deliver.
The universe finds fit to give him a means to rise to the occasion.

Ivy stills for a moment as he thinks. Now normally, his response would be an automatic no. There are a whole list of reasons why it's a bad idea to combine drugs and kink. Even something as innocuous as aspirin still counts. He wouldn't be taking it for its pain-relieving properties. No, it would be to thin his blood. To bleed more, to make it messy. The bruises will develop quicker and darker and will spread. If they were out at a party, he would say no. If they were playing with anyone he didn't know, it would be a no. But last week alongside II, he looked over each individuals paperwork. The girls are in a closed relationship and aren't physically participating, only observing. Vessel only serves II. Himself, III and II are on PrEP and keep their circles small. Everyone has read through II's PowerPoint that outlined safe bloodplay and therefore understood what they were getting themselves into by saying yes.

Summary
II hates preheats. He feels like shit for days and is likely a little terror to be around.
IV would definitely say II was worse than him during preheats.
Way worse, IV would say, a grin on his face.
But, in actuality, IV turned to mush as soon as his preheat started.
And needless to say, when III and Vessel announce they reluctantly need to leave for a few days, IV doesn't handle it well. Luckily, he has II.

Summary
There was something magical about watching the winter snow melt away to reveal fresh spring grass below. Life slowly returning to the forests around the Abby, and even the occasional baby woodland creature being spotted frolicking. All throughout the Abby, life was starting to rebound from the chill that still lingered in the air.
It was also a time for a small celebration for the ghouls. Every winter, the siren call of hibernation sang out to the earth, quintessence, and water ghouls of the Ministry.

Vessel's finally made the move to London, all on his own with a shoddy little flower shop. He doesn't expect his tattoo artist neighbour to be an old lover who doesn't recognise him anymore, but luckily for him, there's a cute musician and a hot bartender to help him work through everything.
Also the walls are very thin, and Vessel sometimes gets pent up.
“Because I like you.”
“You don’t.”
Three sighed and slid a hand on the bar, close to Vessel’s but never quite touching. “I think… you’re not being fair to yourself. You’re sloshed, for one—and that’s my fault, mind, but I don’t think you’re in any position to tell me who I like and who I don’t. So you be good and listen to me when I say I do like you.”
Vessel still didn’t believe him. “But you won’t sleep with me.”
