Phainon frowns. Kephale? That name tickles something, but he doesn’t know what. It feels weird, like that pudding that got him sick last month.
“Forget what?”

Mydei used to quench the fire, for a while, but he never understood what art truly means for Phainon. Alastor, Velvette and Valentino all roll their eyes and stay silent for a minute in solidarity with each other. Velvette reaches out her hand, palm up, and after a beat, Alastor takes it, squeezing it. Seeing as he sits in the middle, he bites the bullet and extends his own hand towards Valentino who grabs it immediately and squeezes it too.|

Summary
“What does dying feel like?”
Mydei stills. He could tell him of different sensations of death. He could tell him what it feels like when life ebbs out of your veins, and you can only watch it happen. He could tell him how the swift stab of a blade snuffs life out like a wayward candle. He could tell him that the River of Souls is a cold climb, with sweet voices whispering from beyond the shore, beckoning him to join them, relish in their touches yet again, after all the time that has passed.
Mydei gathers Phainon in his arms, burying his head in the Deliverer’s neck. Phainon is limp enough that it might be concerning, so Mydei just holds him tighter.
“You will find no comfort there.”
“No,” Phainon agrees, “such things are long beyond me.”

Summary
He misses Aedes Elysiae. He misses home, whatever that means. But he can never go back. He misses his friends; he misses hanging out with them, sharing jokes with them. He misses coming up with the most ridiculous challenges known to mankind, just to have Mydei indulge him a little longer. He misses the way Mydei would call him Deliverer, maybe to encourage him or maybe to bully him. He misses barging into Mydei’s place at the most inopportune times just to spook the guy and drag him off to a bath or yet another challenge.

Summary
Geralt is just supposed to pass through the quiet Lettenhove area. He's not anticipating being begged by its people to help save their viscount from a curse that keeps him from daylight. Lord Jaskier, they call him, and he's likely dying.
As Geralt struggles to untangle the ugly web of history that has lead to the increasingly complicated curse, he finds himself spending more and more time with the strange young viscount and wondering just what he might have been before the curse, and who he might be after.
