Summary
It happens on a Tuesday, because of course it does.
The universe has decided it hates Hizashi. Thanks to an obsessed villain, he's been left unable to refuse any order given of him - including the one to tell nobody of his predicament. He can't ask for help, he can't tell Shouta what's wrong. Each day gets worse than the last. A casual phrase, carelessly tossed at him, could mean his death.
All he can do is sit tight and hope Shouta figures out what's going on. But the clock is ticking, and it turns out Shouta might be more of a danger to Hizashi than either of them know...

Hizashi would like it to be known that he knew this would possibly be the hardest thing he would ever do in his life. You know, for the record.
Somewhere along the way Aizawa started joining him and their friends during lunch. Helping Hizashi with his chemistry homework as Hizashi helped him with their English and literature classes. Became Shouta, instead of Aizawa. Just as Hizashi had become Hizashi to Shouta, not Yamada.
Somewhere along the way, Hizashi had developed a crush on Shouta. And he knew that doing anything about said crush was going to be a disaster. As the aforementioned get shit done™ drive, that Hizashi definitely admires, also means that Shouta has no time for anything that could get in the way of getting shit done™.

Hizashi doesn’t notice, too caught up in his own work. His glasses are sliding down his nose, and his hair is beginning to fall free of its loose bun. The tip of his tongue pokes out the side of his mouth as he does his calculations, and Shouta is suddenly overcome with the desire to hold onto this moment forever. He’s not sure why it feels so urgent - they’ve spent a thousand nights like this. There are thousands more ahead of them, with any luck at all. But something about the way Hizashi looks right now feels fleeting and precious, like the blink of a firefly.
Shouta shoves the paper in front of him forward until Hizashi looks up. “You know, if we got married, we might qualify for a tax break.”

The words perk Hizashi’s ears, and then eek the slightest hint of an opening in his stomach. A pit that’s slowly crumbling wider each time he hears that phrase. They’re starting to precede something unintentionally heinous in a forming pattern.
“You did?” Hizashi asks, and tries to will away the disparaging thought that he isn’t going to like it.
Shota got him a gift. He should be grateful. And besides, surely the luck of three will spare Hizashi from anything particularly atrocious.
Right?
Wrong.
Or
Aizawa is bad at gift giving, but Hizashi can't quite bring himself to say anything.

Meanwhile, a string of murders settles an unease into the air, leaving Hitoshi right in the centre of the storm.
