On the third day, after Noct’s funeral, after the sun had set, Ignis sat down on the floor and went to sleep. He did not wake up again.
Ignis woke up. He opened his eyes and looked at the green fabric of the tent ceiling. This was, he thought, a remarkably realistic dream. He hadn’t had lucid dreams since he was a very small child. It took him a few minutes to decide that it wasn’t a dream after all, at which he crawled outside without waking anyone, walked a little way from the haven, and cried his guts out.

Summary
It wasn’t Ignis’ job to sew buttons, just like it wasn’t his job to clean and cook and otherwise run the household like a stay-at-home husband who also happened to have a very demanding full-time job. Or perhaps it was, because it was written in his contract that he had to afford Prince Noctis such care and assistance as may be necessary, which Ignis thought pretty damn vague, not that he’d ever say it out loud.

A fascinating AU with GladNoct front and center. The relationship is sweet, the smut is hot, there is so much well-developed history between these guys. Ignis and Prompto in supporting roles are extremely fun and accurate in terms of character portrayal. Carries a lot of emotion.

When Noctis and I first met - properly - we were ten. We were friends pretty much from that moment on. Now that we're fourteen, I think I'm ready to tell him that I'm bisexual. And... Wow, he's taking this really well? What the heck? Is he- Why is he talking about support groups?
What started as an excuse to put Ignis in rainbow suspenders and body glitter with a cocktail in his hand quickly spiraled into a nostalgic mess of what it's like growing up Queer. Except happier.

It's hard for me to pinpoint exactly why this is so good. It reminds me of growing up, coming out, finding community, watching my friends experience trauma and come out the other side whole. It should be in a queer archive somewhere.
