“So,” Horne called out, “I popped on over to an inn to try and get a night’s kip, as recommended in the local fit and strong workmen’s magazine-,” he hesitated slightly, “Which I buy- for the carpenter-themed crossword!”
“—‘Course you do…” Sandy couldn’t help but sarcastically interrupt.
Horne, by now an expert in ignoring Julian and Sandy’s uninvited responses, knocked raptly on the wooden door, “Hello! Anybody there?”

“Ooh, hello!” another male voice called out.
“Julian! Sandy!” Horne replied, “Thank goodness you’re here! I have been dreadfully confused all morning, wondering what on Earth is going on!”
“Lucky for you, ducky, that’s exactly what we’re here for.” Sandy replied.
“Yeah, we were gonna write "Bona What on Earth is Going on" but it wouldn’t fit on the sign!” Julian added.

Madelyn stepped out of her underwear and towards Homelander. She waved her hands down at him, “On your knees.”
“Huh?” Homelander let out as he dropped down. There was a floor to ceiling mirror opposite the shower and he saw himself fall, lacking the powerful image he usually prided himself on.
Madelyn began to lift her skirt and Homelander looked away out of respect. He caught eyes with himself in the mirror. And it was himself. He could tell by the look in his eye; a slight uncertainty that… the Other him never had.

Homelander and Black Noir had just finished a mission; an anti-Vought protester had got a little too close to some truths, and needed to be put in their place (six feet under). Now, with the stars above them, they were standing in an empty field after a job well done, looking down at the mudpeople who should be grateful they got to share oxygen with merciful gods like them.
Noir, standing faithfully at Homelander’s side, turned to face him, an unknowable expression on his face. He placed his hands on Homelander’s shoulders and stared meaningfully into him.

What is originally supposed to be a simple mission to facilitate diplomacy between a warring planet turns into the uncovering of deeply rooted corruption, and the leaders of this world are willing to sacrifice anything to maintain the status quo. Even if that means harming its own people. As the Justice League struggles to create order and save lives, Batman and Joker’s inextricable bond might just be exactly what they need to save them all.
