Written in a SCREENPLAY format, this fic operates as a diverging conclusion for the final season of Stranger Things.

"You’ll get over it, man," Dustin called out from the table. He meant it to be encouraging—he really did. "I mean, not the Joyce stuff—that’s obviously going to take forever—but the... you know. The stuff Vecna showed us. The painting. It’s just a crush. We’ve all had 'em. Once we fix the world, I know you’ll find someone great. Who, you know, actually fits."
"Dustin," Robin hissed, her shoulder tensing against Will's. "Maybe not the time for the 'plenty of fish' speech?"
"No, I’m just saying!" Dustin protested, "We’re not weirded out or anything. We want him to know that we’re okay with it. That we’re still friends. You’re our Cleric, Will. We need our Cleric."
"Yeah," Lucas added, stepping closer, "We’re not mad about what we saw, Will. Honestly. We just want you to be okay."
"A crush," Will repeated, the words tasting like copper.
OR Will Byers was their Cleric, their tool. But when his family is lost and his heart is treated as an inconvenience, he stops healing. He merges the worlds to ensure the silence lasts forever.
OR A Dark Will AU where he chose to let the world burn instead of being sidelined again.
